You’ll be solving supply chain problems that span the whole world: a smoke-free world! Your 'day to day' As Senior Material Engineer, you will coordinate product and related material improvements (product performance, sustainability, zero loss) projects and strategies for Heat-not-Burn consumable category. In close collaboration with Designers and Engineers you will define and characterize material critical attributes and there system integration through prototyping and experimentations. Within the Project Based Organization Framework you will deliver on time solutions and ensure the assessment, selection and implementation of Material/Product improvements following best scientific practices and guidelines set in the Quality Management System. More specifically, you will: • Lead and coordinate product improvement projects through the research of new or optimized materials and solutions. • Design experimental plans using “Design of Experiment (DoE)” principles and coordinate their execution by providing clear instruction to manufacturing teams and/or external partners. • Define material related specifications following rigorous material characterization and system integration. • Perform thorough risk assessment to support the industrialization of new materials and solutions to commercial scale. • Ensure the timely release of design documents and specifications that went through rigorous verification and ensure that the supporting data are generated, consolidated and reviewed in line with scientific best practices. • Ensure compliance with quality and regulatory requirements, and company policies to follow an effective and continuous product development and change management process. • Apply company IP strategy for new design product. Who we're looking for: • You will hold a University degree in Material Science and Engineering or natural science or engineering degrees with broad fundamentals in materials science. Specific knowledge in one or more of following fields is a plus: cellulose-, fiber-, bio-based materials and products. • You would have 5+ years of relevant development and industrialization experience within tobacco, food or pharmaceutical industry. • You would have a proven track record in problem solving, team collaboration in cross-functional projects and executing complex design of experiments. • You are curious, fast learner, agile and can communicate effectively both verbally and in writing with various stakeholders. • You are fluent in English, French or Italian is an asset.
