Principal Cyber Risk Engineer, 80%-100%

With the nature of cyber security evolving so rapidly, Zurich Commercial Insurance is searching for a experienced Cyber risk specialist to further strengthen Zurich’s capability with regards to Cyber insurance and risk advisory for businesses. 


 


What you will do


 


The role will be part of our global Zurich Resilience Solutions advisory unit and will work closely with the Underwriting teams on global, regional and local levels, as well as brokers and customers with responsibilities in the following areas:  


 



  • As a member of the Global RE Tech Center for Cyber develops, builds and maintains in close cooperation with our Global Cyber Underwriting team our technical standards, policies and processes. and controls the technical quality and professional standards of the Risk Engineering function to deliver a consistently high-quality service to customers.  



  • Conducts or assigns and monitors Risk Engineering assessment and service requests mainly for Switzerland, EMEA region and other regions on request, which also includes service account coordination for key accounts.



  • Participate as lead risk engineering technical specialist in assigned areas or geographies to enable the implementation of policy, projects and change initiatives together with Underwriting, Claims, Risk Engineering and Group Information Security.  



  • Plans and assigns appropriate resources (including vendors) in a geographic area to achieve planned utilization and to assist underwriters in order to meet agreed service delivery targets.  

  • In conjunction with Marketing, Sales and Zurich Resilience Solutions Customer Management functions, raises the profile of the Global Cyber Risk Engineering Practice with target audiences and develop propositions and launch strategies for products and initiatives.  


 


What you will bring 


 



  • Degree in Cybersecurity or related curriculum, or equivalent work experience 

  • Relevant experience in  the assessment of risk

  • Strong demonstrable knowledge of cyber risks and experience in the definition of standards, processes and procedures in the area of risk management.

  • Effective collaboration across a range of stakeholders

  • Knowledge, insight, and understanding of cybersecurity concepts, tools, and processes that are needed for making sound decisions in the context of the company's business 



  • CISSP and/or CISM certifications preferred but not required 



  • Familiarity with cybersecurity assessment frameworks such as the NIST Framework for Improving Critical Infrastructure Cybersecurity, ISO 27001, COBiT, etc. 

  • Experience performing or leading cybersecurity assessments 

  • Experience in cyber insurance helpful 

  • Experience delivering cybersecurity services either as a consultant or on a corporate cybersecurity team 

  • Direct or “specialist” experience in one of more of the following subject areas: 



  • Asset Inventory Management 

  • Vulnerability and Patch Management 

  • Security Awareness Training 

  • Security Monitoring 

  • Incident Response Planning and Testing 



  • Disaster Recovery Planning and Testing 

  • Exhibits self-motivation and drive; takes initiative 

  • Ability to deal with escalations and difficult situations  

  • Effective communication, presentation and interpersonal skills 

  • Proficiency in English but German would be a serious advantage
