Responsibilities



  • Responsible for defining and coordinating the overall ‘scope of work’ in Skills Development and representing the skills portfolio within Swisscontact’s management team

  • Oversees and coordinates the Working Area Leads for Initial VET, Continuous VET, Labour Market Insertion in their work, their collaboration with the working groups and communities of practice 

  • Leads one of the working areas in Skills Development

  • Identifies, together with the team, trends and thematic areas where Skills Development products and solutions need to be provided 

  • Positions Swisscontact’s thematic expertise within and outside the organisation

  • Actively contributes to the development of internal reference documents, guidelines and training manuals and/or capitalization documents in the field of Skills Development

  • Ensures thematic on-boarding and capacity building of Team leaders and key staff

  • Provides Strategy guidance and technical backstopping of project teams as senior technical advisor in Skills Development

  • Undertakes capitalisation studies, midterm reviews in complex projects, when required

  • Proactively supports business development providing market intelligence, project ideas, concept notes and concepts, networks and recommendations for proposals and project documents.

  • Identifies, develops and maintains relevant thematic and strategic networks and partnerships with the private sector, foundations, international development agencies and academia for research and implementation of projects


Requirements



  • Postgraduate in Education, VET, Labour Market Sociology/Economics or equivalent

  • Proven VET or Labour Market insertion expertise 

  • At least 8 years of project implementation experience in development cooperation, of which 5 years in developing countries 

  • Experience in applied research in the field of VET or labour market insertion

  • At least 5 years of proven experience in project advisory and backstopping support

  • Proven experience in business development, tender writing 

  • Proven experience in representing the organisation in international conferences and seminars

  • Excellent writing skills in English required; writing skills in French and/or Spanish is an advantage

  • Good presentation skills and conceptual understanding

  • Experience in facilitating thematic networks and teams across countries

  • Proven digital competences

  • Business oriented, initiative, dynamic, and ambitious personality
