Aufgaben/Verantwortlichkeiten

In a small and innovative team, it is your responsibility to benchmark new mass spectrometry solutions against prior art using biological samples and standards. Your task is to perform qualifying proteomics experiments, with the focus area of sample handling, nano HPLC separation and data interpretation. 

 

Your tasks are: 

• New Instrumentation validation by thorough planning, execution and evaluation of benchmark nano LC-MS experiments, predominately in the field of Omics


• Set-up, operate and maintain the required nano LC equipment


• Join and contribute as LC-MS expert to the development team and represent customer and application perspectives


• Connect to worldwide applications development and support early VIP demos


• Occasionally participate on scientific conferences or seminars, and support sales in a scientific context

Qualifikationen

• Ph. D. in Chemistry / Biochemistry / Biology or similar field, preferred postdoc or core facility experience.


• Excellent knowledge and hands-on experience in the field of bottom-up proteomics, ideally also in the analysis of other biomolecules by LC-MS/MS.


• Proven proficiency in chromatographic separations (nano LC).


• Interest in and understanding of the technology behind mass spectrometry and LC-MS  products.


• Experience in the evaluation of complex MS based Omics datasets, some basic programming skills would be a plus.


• Structured and accurate work approach, result-oriented.


• Self-motivation and commitment to common team goals.


• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to work in an interdisciplinary team. 


• Ability to communicate effectively at all levels in good spoken and written English, ideally also German, or the willingness to learn it.
