In the growth of Alpiq’s Digital & Commerce business, which includes the European wide energy trading and sales activities, our Merchant Trading department in Olten, Switzerland plays a vital role. For our Options & Emissions desk, which focuses on proprietary options trading across energy markets, we have now created a new Options Trader position. This is a great role for a trader with a few years of experience, who wants to make an impact on a growing desk. 

 

Your main responsibilities 

• Developing proprietary options trading strategies on European energy markets


• Participating in the effort to develop risk systems     


• Assisting the team in managing the options book 


• Supporting and initiating the creation of new models


• Closely collaborating with other desks, analysts, risk, etc.

 

Your qualifications

• Higher degree in a relevant field (business, finance, etc.)


• At least 5 years of trading experience in the energy commodity business (power, carbon, gas, oil)


• Solid experience and track record in proprietary trading


• Good quantitative and analytical skills


• Some coding skills (Python a.o.)


• Great communication and influencing skills, fluent English
