Do you want to help shape the future of Thomson Reuters, identifying new and adjacent market opportunities to drive further growth and better serve our customers? We are looking for a Strategy Manager to join the Strategy team, based out of our Thomson Reuters Enterprise Centre in Zug.
The Strategy Team works directly with our CEO, CFO, business unit Presidents and other senior leaders on a range of dynamic projects to support the long-term operational and growth objectives of the company. The Manager, Strategy, role reports into the Chief Strategy Officer (CSO) and will work on a range of initiatives across the company, as well as supporting the CSO in the management and prioritization of team activities.
ABOUT THE ROLE
As Strategy Manager, you will have two primary responsibilities: Strategy creation, and supporting the CSO with overall portfolio and organizational prioritization
Strategy Creation:
Structure and lead strategy projects (or parts of large complex projects), including growth strategy, acquisition pipeline development, strategy planning process, or key operational issues (such as pricing, sales force optimization)
Play an individual delivery role in executing complex, large analytical and problem solving modules of projects
Take the lead in creating deliverables and other outputs to document and communicate findings
Collaborate with and present recommendations to senior-level stakeholders
Be responsible for Strategy project deliverables & board materials as needed
Strategy Portfolio & Prioritization:
Work with the CSO to define and implement processes to prioritize and track the overall portfolio of work, and ensure alignment with internal stakeholders, including:
Create and manage a process to triage and track active and completed projects, and associated resourcing needs
Coordinate with Finance on team budget planning
Lead the OKR definition process for the team, with appropriate tracking
Partner with the CSO on other team activities, including internal and external communications and materials
ABOUT YOU
To be considered for the role of Strategy Manager, you will have:
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance or similar discipline preferred
Minimum four years of experience in strategy, consulting, business planning, financial planning, investment analysis, transaction management, or similar experience
Experience working with senior leadership teams within a large, diverse organization
Strong communication skills and capability of engaging effectively with a range of senior individuals
Experience in developing and implementing business-wide strategies and programs
Experience in project and program management
Experience in resourcing deployment in a professional services organization or similar capacity is helpful
Experience in coordinating global teams to achieve common goals and navigate complex organizational change
Strong financial and business acumen
