Product Technical Specialist (m/f/d)



Description:
DuPont Performance Materials has an opening for a Product Technical Specialist to support the Crastin® & Rynite® Polyester product lines in EMEA. The person will join the TS&D group and work with the Product Management, Application Development, Marketing & Sales, R&D teams and external customers to develop new applications, solve process related issues, develop relevant data and provide technical support and training internally & externally.


Major tasks:



  • Responsibility for the Crastin® & Rynite® product lines in relation to product characterization, processing recommendations, application relevant testing and collection of technical information.


  • Provide Technical Service to Customers in the areas of part & tool design, processing and prototyping to support introduction of new products or developing new applications.


  • Support the development of new products in collaboration with R&D, Application Development, Marketing and Operations. 


  • Develop the required data packages to support new product launches. 


  • Conduct technical programs at the European Technical Centre in collaboration with the customer facing teams. 


  • Work with customers to resolve quality issues and identify productivity improvements. 


  • Stay closely connected with the industry to learn on new technologies and processing methods relevant for the polyesters thermoplastic resins.



Location: European Technical Center, Geneva, Switzerland.


Flexibility to travel (~30%) to customers mainly within Europe and internal appointments.


Job requirements:



  • Degree on Industrial Engineering, preferably on Mechanical, Chemical or Electrical.  


  • Experience in the field of engineering polymer products and their processing methods.


  • Proficiency in testing methodologies, polymer chemistry. 


  • Commercial experience. Account management in the engineering polymers domain.  


  • Fluent in English. Working understanding of German and/or French would be an advantage.


  • Ability to analyze, interpret and communicate technical matters.


  • Basic knowledge of statistical methods and IT tools (MS-Windows). 6 Sigma background will be an advantage.


  • Ability to work independently and in teams, across functions/regions and with customers.


  • Strong teamwork, interpersonal and self-managing skills.


  • Good presentation skills, able to adapt the communication content to the target audience.
