Director of Marketing, Digital Health and Commercial Solutions, Surgical - Geneva

This position will partner with Global Marketing in defining brand strategy, claims and evidence, and new product launch strategy for Alcon’s Digital Health Solutions to ensure that the product/brand strategy aligns to the needs of International markets.  Adapt and deploy brand strategy and new product launch package for top 12 International markets.


We are specifically seeking those with experience leading/executing Digital Health strategy and SaaS solutions and related professional services.


Major Accountabilities:



  • Develop marketing strategies, programs/campaigns & ready-to-use promotional materials (physical and digital content): 1.in partnership with Global Marketing for new Product Launches 2. independently for established in-line products

  • Provide marketing plan direction, guidance, and oversight to ensure best-in-class marketing execution (for new product launches & established in- line products), cross-market consistency (where appropriate), and maximum marketing ROI (by minimizing duplication and maximizing impact), including Medical Affairs plans, scientific evidence, and podium presence

  • Coordinate all international brand marketing initiatives that will help the top 12 international markets achieve the annual and intermediate-term sales and market share objectives

  • Provide strategic input for Medical/Economic Evidence and publication plans as member of world-wide Medical Evidence Teams

  • Regularly update campaign materials and promotional assets as Alcon and competitor market presence evolves and customer needs/preferences change

  • Synthesize and share best practices (e.g. lessons learned new product launch lead markets, etc.) creating a cycle of continuous improvement in marketing execution and application of novel channel innovations across the International Surgical business

  • Establish Commercial KPIs and track performance with discipline

  • Provide International input into “upstream” Global franchise strategy to ensure innovation programs (internal R&D and external L&A/partnerships) meet International needs

  • Reports to the Head of Marketing, International Advanced Technologies. Works closely with key members of the IMG Team, including the Area Marketing team which supports all International markets beyond the Top 12


Experience & Competencies:



  • 8+ years of broad experience in progressive marketing positions in highly competitive global medical devices, pharmaceutical or consumer health care product industries (customer facing/sales experience and/or ophthalmology experience preferred, but not required)

  • Experience developing and launching Digital Health products and services, especially revenue-generating SaaS solutions and related professional services

  • Strong technical aptitude, work experience and training on technologies, particularly those relevant to Healthcare systems integration

  • Previous experience in a country marketing role

  • Proven expertise in global product strategy, brand marketing, and portfolio management

  • Track-record of successful, multi-country new product launches

  • Capability to work in a complex global framework, including strong stakeholder experience and ability to lead cross functional teams in a fast-paced and high-demand environment

  • Demonstrated strong long-term strategic thinking and planning for business success. Ability to bring innovative thinking, challenging status quo and managing the ambiguity

  • Experience coaching and developing skills of others in marketing, project management and technical/clinical areas

  • Minimum: Bachelor’s  Degree; Desirable: MBA

  • Fluency in English, other languages are a plus
