The Neuroscience and Rare Diseases Discovery and Translational Area (NRD DTA) is developing medicines for a range of serious neurological/neurodegenerative and psychiatric diseases, including multiple sclerosis, Alzheimer’s disease, Parkinson’s disease, spinal muscular atrophy, Huntington’s disease, and autism.
As a student in the NRD DTA you will join our Electrophysiology and Analytics group in the Biomarkers and Translational Technologies division with a focus on clinical EEG data. You will be based at the Roche Innovation Center Basel, hosted and mentored by two Roche biomarker scientists who will guide you through your research and provide you with the needed work infrastructure and collaborative network.
During your internship, you will have the opportunity to contribute to an important collaborative project and learn about EEG data analysis, signal processing and advanced analytics. Depending on your interests, you will have the opportunity to take part in courses and seminars for training.

An ambitious MSc or PhD student who is currently enrolled with a minimum of 3 years undergraduate training in Mathematics, Statistics, Physics, Computer Science, Cognitive Science, Neuroscience or Engineering
Good programming skills (ideally MATLAB and/or python)
Experience with signal processing and neuroimaging is a plus
Proficient in English (both spoken and written)
The preferred starting date for this internship is June 1, 2021
