Role purpose:


This role is responsible for the development and implementation of a comprehensive internal and external communications and engagement strategy and plan to support the delivery of our Crop Protection EAME business priorities, foster an innovative and inclusive culture, and communicate our contribution to sustainable agriculture and addressing climate change.


Accountabilities:



  • Partnering with the Crop Protection leadership team for the EAME region to shape the internal and external communications and engagement priorities that support the business initiatives and five-year plans, and build the brand and reputation of the company

  • Proactively shape the narrative and messaging around sustainable agriculture and our business, and communicating this in an engaging way across channels and platforms

  • Identifying or creating communications and engagement opportunities for the leadership team and supporting with communications counsel or coaching as required

  • Effectively managing the communications for issues or crises, including the focus on safety and wellbeing during the Covid-19 pandemic

  • Partnering with the Regional Director to support internal and external communications activities, including development of speeches, presentations, videos etc.

  • Develop a media and stakeholder communications and engagement plan that builds the reputation of the company

  • Leading communication for key business change projects and initiatives (including M&A activity)

  • Developing, implementing, and measuring communications and engagement programs such as key events, sponsorships, donations, internal programs, etc.

  • Lead development of regional communications materials, including press releases, Q&As, executive talking points, fact sheets, etc., in collaboration with CP Communications and Group Communications

  • Implement digital communications approaches, ensuring consistent and aligned messaging across traditional media, social media and internal channels, implementing an editorial planning process, and establishing an effective process for story mining across the region

  • Lead a business-focused communications community across the region, ensuring communications alignment and effective implementation of the operating model, processes and ways of working

  • Support implementation of CP global engagement programs, collaborating with other regional CP communications peers

  • Measure the effectiveness of communications programs, content and channels through established metrics, and use the data to drive improvements

  • Actively contribute as a member of the Global CP Communications leadership team and the EAME Business Sustainability leadership team

 

Qualifications

 

Requirements:



  • Bachelor or Master’s degree in communications or related discipline

  • Excellent English – German, French or another European language a plus

  • Outstanding writing and verbal communication skills across different media

  • 10+ years of communications experience in an international environment, ideally in the life sciences industry

  • Experience in driving solutions with senior leadership

  • Significant professional experience with integrated strategic communications, social media and channel management, brand and reputation building, stakeholder engagement, events, issues management, change management

  • Development of communication strategies to address complex business challenges and to engage diverse stakeholder groups

  • Experience in working with NGOs and diverse groups of stakeholders

  • Ability to build rapport, trust and credibility with leaders, key stakeholders and other communicators

  • Experience in working with cross-functional / cross-cultural teams

  • Agency management for delivery of communications services

  • Excellent project management skills

  • People management and strong team player
