The Anaesthesia and Pain Therapy Section of the Department of Clinical Veterinary Science, Vetsuisse
Faculty, University of Bern, Switzerland, invites applications for an Anaesthesia Internship starting January
2019.
The successful candidate will work under the supervision of anaesthesia and analgesia specialists (5 ECVAA
diplomates, 1 ACVAA diplomate) to provide anaesthesia and analgesia in the 3 hospitals of the department
and participate to out of hours emergency duties.
The applicant should ideally have 1-2 years of clinical experience in general practice (preferably small animal)
or have taken part in a rotating internship, although new graduates will also be considered.
The candidate must have enthusiasm for anaesthesia, be a team player, have good communication skills,
fluent English language and willingness to learn German.
The Department offers first-class full service in small and large animal surgery and medicine and provides
primary and referral patient care for most domestic species. The veterinary teaching hospitals (small animal,
equine and farm animal) are equipped with state-of-the-art facilities and are top-level veterinary education
centers.
