Application Specialist Sales Support Biopharma – EMEA


The key role of this position is to support the sales process for LSMS products in the Biopharma market across EMEA with a particular focus in Research and Development and in Quality Control environments. Primary responsibilities will be to provide technical pre-sales and post-sales support for customers in Biopharma, with a focus on executing the Multi Attribute Method (MAM) on the Orbitrap platform in support of the development of biotherapeutics.


You will need strong hands-on and practical knowledge of all Biopharma methodologies assisting the implementation of our workflows in Biopharma accounts.


You will be engaged in customer calls and visits together with sales colleagues, product demonstrations, technical advice and support of sales colleagues, application development, customer support, customer product and biopharma application-focused training, and support scientific events within EMEA. The role is a lab-based position in Switzerland, in the greater Basel area, so you work in our demo facility in Reinach on a regular basis.


Alternatively, the role could be located in the Hemel Hempstead demonstration laboratory in UK.


Responsibilities:



  • Responsible for active contribution to the European financial targets and the achievement of the team goals.

  • Responsible to manage your allocated customer activities for pre- and post-sales.

  • Provide MAM and biopharma applications/workflows pre-sales technical support to guide the sales representative and customers to the best solution for the customers’ short- and long-term needs and take account ownership.

  • Support sales projects with demonstrations (and all aspects required) and follow customers with high-quality post-sales support (remotely, in person) resulting in customer satisfaction, repeat orders and establishment of a user-to-trusted consultant relationship.

  • Assist the introduction of relevant applications, workflows and NPIs into the Biopharma market.

  • Provide on-site support to biopharma customers, KOLs, sales seed units, scientific user meetings and events.

  • Collect and communicate market intelligence and VOC information to relevant stakeholders and the manager.

  • Make adequate use of all implemented tools, tracking all activities to develop comprehensive knowledge with a view to support prospects and customers.

  • Assist the review of customer training content, working closely with other specialists and experts, with the marketing teams, the factory and the sales and service teams.


Your Profile:



  • Degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry or similar, PhD would be preferred.

  • Extensive LCMS hands-on experience, where work in Biopharma environment, with LC/HRAM technology, preferably Orbitrap technology, and Chromeleon experience are a bonus.

  • Solid knowledge in Biopharma applications and workflows, understanding of regulatory requirements.

  • Excellent knowledge of market trends and drivers in Biopharma industry, of major competitors.

  • Excellent customer relationship management experience with the ability to understand and respond to customer needs, to translate their needs into relevant pre- and post-sales deliverables.

  • Positive and energetic personality with strong sense of accountability, solution seeker, customer advocate.

  • The ability to work on own initiative, to prioritize and seek support when needed, to meet deadlines and targets.

  • Must be flexible and be able to embrace change.

  • Excellent inter-personal skills and proven capabilities of teamwork and stakeholder management skills.

  • Evidence of capabilities to share information, knowledge and experience, to mentor younger colleagues.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Good interpersonal and self-organizational skills.

  • Driving license.

  • Willingness to travel.

  • Fluency in English, and other European languages would be beneficial.
