OBJECTIVES OF THE PROGRAMME
The mission of WHO's Health Emergencies Programme (The Programme) is to build the capacity of Member States to manage health emergency risks and, when national capacities are overwhelmed, to lead and coordinate the international health response to contain outbreaks and to provide effective relief and recovery to affected populations. The Management & Administration Department of the Health Emergencies Programme is responsible for effective management and administrative support for the emergencies programme and for ensuring that WHO emergency operations are rapidly and sustainably financed and staffed. This consists of the provision of high-quality, predictable administrative services (i.e. HR, Finance, work planning, grant management) to the Emergency Programme, including during emergency response, as well as effective monitoring of (and compliance with) SOPs, leading to continuous improvement and business process excellence.
DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES
Under the overall guidance of Technical Officer (Team Lead) of Continuous Business Improvement (WHE/MGA), the incumbent is assigned all or part of the following responsibilities:
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Education
Essential:
A first university degree in Business Management, Human Resources, Education, Learning and Development or related field.
Desirable:
Training certification in eLearning and/or design simulation/table-top exercises.
Training certification in Project Management.
Experience
Essential:
At least 2 years' experience at the nationaland international level in training-related activities applying adult learning principles.
Experience in design and deliver eLearning courses with adult audience, applying relevant IT tools for content authoring.
Experience in facilitating face-to-face trainings to adult audience.
Desirable:
Experience in designing and executing simulation/table-top exercises.

REMUNERATION
WHO salaries for staff in the Professional category are calculated in US dollars. The remuneration for the above position comprises an annual base salary starting at USD 48,805 (subject to mandatory deductions for pension contributions and health insurance, as applicable), a variable post adjustment, which reflects the cost of living in a particular duty station, and currently amounts to USD 3457 per month for the duty station indicated above. Other benefits include 30 days of annual leave, allowances for dependent family members, home leave, and an education grant for dependent children.
