The Forum of Young Global Leaders (YGL) is a preeminent community of over 1,300 global leaders, forging a new model of global governance in the Fourth Industrial Revolution and propelling human-centric societies that embrace technology. It is housed at and maintains close affiliation with the World Economic Forum. 


The YGL programme aims to achieve a world where leaders take individual and collective responsibility for a sustainable and inclusive future. We do this by investing in individual leaders’ potential and capacities and fostering a trusted, multi-sectoral community that build bridges for collective action on critical global issues. Specifically, we connect YGLs to one another, the broader World Economic Forum platform, and cutting-edge insights to provide unique and stellar leadership development opportunities. We also bring them together on key topic of global concern to apply their expertise, influence and innovation to drive positive change in the world.  


We are seeking a highly motivated, data-driven storyteller with strong problem solving and analytical skills to support The Forum of Young Global Leaders and its members. Successful candidates should have excellent communications and analytical skills, be self-motivated, thrive in challenging environments, and have a strong commitment to excellence. The Specialist role is designed to understand and strengthen YGL impact and profile of the community in the world.  


Reporting Lines & Interactions: 


The Community Engagement Specialist will report to the Collective Impact Lead. This role is based in Geneva. 


Main Responsibilities



  • Partner with the Collective Impact Lead to align data and learning objectives with programme impact goals

  • Manage the collection and analysis of programme impact data, both quantitative and qualitative

  • Oversee data systems, processes, and tools that advance programmatic innovation, learning priorities, and communications

  • Analyse, synthesize, and produce key insights and communications that can inform multiple audiences, including leadership, community members, supporters, and the general public

  • Showcase the impact generated by the YGL programme and members, distilling data and learnings into compelling content for internal and external needs

  • Manage the YGL newsletter, website, social media, and class launch

  • Perform other duties as assigned, including coordination with the Forum´s Public Engagement team


The successful candidate will be assessed on: 



  • Advancing The Forum of Young Global Leaders´ work to inspire, connect and transform generations of leaders

  • Fostering the team’s skills in data collection, project management, monitoring and reporting 

  • Serving as a thought partner for impact programming and storytelling

  • Supporting and growing the public profile of The Forum of Young Global Leaders

  • Collaborating with teams across the World Economic Forum to ensure strategic alignment with the Public Engagement team


Preferred requirements and experience: 



  • 3-5 years of experience in knowledge management, communications, programme development, or similar fields  

  • Exceptional analytical (qualitative and quantitative) skills, as well as aptitude for problem-solving with a positive, solution-oriented approach to challenges 

  • Exceptional written and verbal communications skills, and the ability to build a narrative across a range of digital formats 

  • Experience leveraging data to drive programmatic shifts towards improved outcomes 

  • Proven experience with an evolving organization and willingness to contribute to its growth and reputation 

  • Highly organized and detail oriented with a track record of meeting short- and long-term responsibilities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven, high volume organization 

  • Proven track record of working with senior stakeholders in business, government, academia and international organizations, as well as dynamic innovators from across sectors 

  • Native-level proficiency in spoken and written English; fluency in at least one other language is an asset
