Bank Lombard Odier & Co Ltd in Geneva is looking for a candidate to fulfil the following mission statement:


English language editor/writer (60%) & communications specialist (40%)


English is one of the three official languages of the Lombard Odier Group. The English language editor/writer & communications specialist will guarantee the quality and consistency of the English language in the external and internal communication activities of the Group. In addition to the writing, editing and proof reading of content, the role entails the development of communications material such as briefings for media activity, talking points and strategic messaging for specific communication activities or campaigns.


Responsibilities cover therefore both the proofreading, drafting and editing of internal memos, leadership communication and intranet stories, to developing content that will be leveraged externally. He/she will report to the Head of External & Internal Communications and be based in Geneva.


YOUR MISSION:


PROOFREADING, EDITING & CONTENT COORDINATION (60 %)


As an editor and proofreader, he/she will be responsible for ensuring the quality of the language as well as the consistency of style and messages of the communication materials published internally or externally.



  • Proofread / adapt content translated from French into English or content written in English by non-native speakers (financial communications, internal leadership communications and intranet stories, external content where relevant)

  • Edit and write content to be leveraged internally and externally, coordinate with the relevant internal stakeholders.

  • Support PR media activities through proofreading of articles, press releases, opinion pieces and key messaging platforms and PR materials (e.g. to support ad campaigns).


COMMUNICATIONS SPECIALIST (40%)


He/she will also support in the developing of new content and communication platforms for strategic PR campaigns and internal communications campaigns



  • Write original content intended for external use such as opinion pieces, prepare key messaging platforms/briefings for media interviews, and support in the designing and execution of strategic communication activities

  • Support PR activities of the external communications team by developing key messaging on specific topics (innovation, sustainability etc.) in alignment with the internal Subject Matter Experts at Lombard Odier.

  • Support in the development of strategic internal comms campaigns and specific internal leadership communication assets (memos, speeches, video scripts etc.).


DESIRED PROFILE:



  • Proven working experience as an editor in English, with good French language capabilities ;

  • An understanding of the financial services sector and current themes;

  • Experience working in a corporate communications function or as a journalist / writer;

  • Strong articles and speech writing/editing/proofreading skills and an excellent portfolio in English;

  • Ability to capture input from subject matter experts / executives and thereafter develop communication materials;

  • Thoughtful, fast, disciplined execution;

  • Hands on experience with MS Office and other publishing tools;

  • An eye for detail along with critical thinking;

  • At ease dealing with complexity and pressure: prioritizing and multitasking;

  • Team player and enthusiastic attitude;

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent as a minimum;

  • Resident in Switzerland or willing to relocate to Switzerland.
