Associate Director IOC Technology


 


Your mission will be to manage and improve the delivery of information and technology services in support of the IOC’s operations, including developing new services/enhancements, management and delivery of all services and provision of information and knowledge management


 


 


What will I do?


 


Customer/Internal stakeholders



  • Account Management: day-to-day counterpart of the IOC entities based in Lausanne, shaping and steering the relationship with the internal and external customers

  • Defines and leads the strategy to improve DTI customer satisfaction in the context of an overall drive towards professionalisation and modernisation

  • Champions customer obsession within the team

  • Establishes mature business relationships through the engagement of DTI with appropriate customers and stakeholders with respect to the definition, provision and improvement of relevant services

  • Engages directly in the management and steering of selected key delivery programmes and projects, as agreed with the CITO, to ensure successful outcomes


 


Process



  • Defines and leads the critical areas for process improvement across the critical project and service areas

  • Ensures that activities are being managed within an appropriate governance and control framework and environment

  • Ensures that activities are being directed within agreed strategies for technology and security and in line with established policies


 


Organisation



  • Organizational Management: ensure consistent business processes throughout the organization; own the management, governance and repositories of key IT business documentation; manage and maintain organizational data and reporting

  • Defines, leads and guides the DTI teams that deliver services for the IOC to optimise service and customer-satisfaction

  • Leads the management and engagement with key relevant vendors and partners to drive the optimum service, delivery and financial outcomes for the IOC working within the framework to be defined by the Head of Planning, Performance and Vendor Management

  • Drives the development of staff through proactive skills assessment, identification of training needs, recruitment, succession planning and the management of career progression

  • Devises an effective communication plan for their teams to ensure that all teams are adequately informed of IOC priorities and their support through DTI policies, strategies and activities

  • Ensures that the CITO is appropriately informed on current issues and developments

  • As appropriate, act as alternate/ deputy to the CITO

  • Contributes to the overall management of DTI in the formation of strategy, policies and in the overall leadership of the department


 


Financial



  • Agrees and manages the relevant budgets to target

  • Pro-actively drives to improve value-for-money (VfM) for the IOC through identifying efficiency improvements and innovation opportunities


 


What am I bringing to the team?


 



  • MBA or University undergraduate degree or relevant professional experience

  • At least 15 years’ experience of managing complex IT projects, programmes and service delivery functions

  • Fluent in English with excellent command of French (or an intention/commitment to learn)

  • Experience in Business processes transformation

  • Ability to motivate and support staff through a period of substantial change

  • High level of ownership and adaptability in a continually evolving situation

  • Ability to build confidence of customers in DTI service and delivery

  • Ability to prioritize and make appropriate decisions

  • Positive attitude, open-mindedness.

  • Enthusiasm, pro-activity and efficiency.
