The Chair of Architectural Behaviorology, led by Prof. Momoyo Kaijima, is engaged in teaching and research surrounding Architectural Behaviorology, which is our design theory and methodology. Its objective is to rediscover the forgotten values of resources through the lens of ethnography. It tries to find barriers and challenge them in order to create better accessibilities to local resources, and to activate the behaviors of actors, both human and resource.
For the upcoming autumn semester, we are expanding our team and have three open positions:
As a teaching assistant at our chair, you are expected to teach a combination of architectural design and research, both within the framework of Architectural Behaviorology. You will need to be able to understand the student’s ideas and to help them further developing their projects. You need to have knowledge of structure, construction and detailing to support the students also in these matters.
Teaching assistant contracts are limited to one year, with the option of renewing the contract every year. The starting date of the contract will be the 1st of September 2021.
You have a master’s degree in architecture and at least two years working experience in an architecture office, including working on execution plans. You should be able to teach and research in English and (Swiss) German. At least a C1 level in both languages is required.
The studio’s program will be closely related to Switzerland and therefore knowledge of Swiss culture and architecture are necessary. Applicants should live in Switzerland, ideally within the Zurich area.
