RAMS Engineer – Maintainability


Part of Leonardo (through its Helicopter division), Kopter is set to become a Centre of Excellence for new light helicopters and an incubator of new technologies; also contributing to the development of new hybrid and electrical propulsion systems. The single-engine, turbine-powered AW09 now under development will outperform its peers with increased modularity, modern electronic systems, and a larger cabin and cargo hold. The AW09 delivers latest safety standards, more performance and comfort at low operating costs. Kopter’s 320 talented team members are primarily based near Zurich, Switzerland – with corporate/engineering offices at Wetzikon, and the production facilities in the towns of Mollis and Näfels.


Your responsibilities



  • Perform MSG-3 Analyses and actively contribute to the Kopter Maintenance Review Board process for the assigned systems.

  • Coordinate the Maintainability requirements definition and implementation in the design in cooperation with the CS&S functions.

  • Organize the Kopter prototypes maintenance requirements definition, ensuring the Maintenance Manual availability and updating as required for the Flight Conditions approval.

  • Reviewing the maintenance findings and experience from Kopter prototypes, providing systematic feedback to the design departments and driving Maintainability improvements initiatives.

  • Supporting the Design Reviews, monitoring the correct Maintenance Requirements implementation.

  • Assess impacts of Design changes on the maintainability of the Product, with specific focus on Scheduled maintenance.

  • Coordinate the engineering inputs availability to the CS&S department for Product Support Engineering activities, with specific focus on Technical Publications development.

  • Supporting the compliance demonstration activities, in accordance with the Certification Programme.


Your qualifications



  • Master or Bachelor Degree in engineering discipline (mechanical, aerospace engineering or equivalent).

  • Knowledge of EASA Part 21, Part M, Part 145 and Aviation Regulations (e.g. FAR 27/CS-27, FAR 29/CS-29).

  • Proven experience, minimum 3 Years, in Aviation Industry with equivalent responsibilities. Rotorcraft industry would be beneficial.

  • Previous experience with Maintenance Review Board (MRB) process and MSG-3 analysis for Aviation industry for rotorcrafts is mandatory. Electrical System, Avionics, Rotors and Drive systems experience will be advantageous. 

  • Direct experience with Experimental aircrafts maintainability requirements definition and implementation.

  • Familiarity with Reliability Analysis and Safety Analysis methodologies and software tools is advantageous

  • Basic knowledge of PLM and 3D CAD tools (preferred software Teamcenter and NX).

  • Good English knowledge (verbal and in writing), minimum B2.
