Associate Specialist, ACT-A Engagement, Donor Relations Department - GL C - Temporary until June 2022The Donor Relations Department has primary responsibility for the strategic development and implementation of the Global Fund’s resource mobilization strategy with government donors to support the mandate of the organization.



The Associate Specialist, ACT-A Engagement will be responsible for the coordination of the Global Fund’s engagement in the Access to COVID-19 Tools (ACT) Accelerator platform and partner organizations by:



a) playing an active role in building, nurturing and managing relationships with the ACT Accelerator and ACT Accelerator partner organizations.



b) providing extensive technical and analytical support and coordination to contribute to achieving Global Fund’s programmatic and resource mobilization goals in relation to its engagement and participation in the ACT Accelerator.

Key Responsibilities


Specifically, and under the guidance and the overall supervision of the Head Donor Relations and Deputy Director, External Relations and Communications, the Associate Specialist, ACT-A Engagement will:



  • Coordinate meetings and events with ACT Accelerator Hub, ACT Accelerator partner organizations, donors, and other stakeholders, and draft briefing notes and presentations for Global Fund principals, including the Executive Director


  • Respond thoroughly and rapidly to requests for information from the ACT Accelerator Hub, ACT Accelerator partner organizations, donors and other stakeholders


  • Obtain key data from other Divisions/Departments, including the Grant Management Division, Supply Operations, Strategic Information Department, and Technical Advice and Partnerships Department, and work closely with the C19RM Secretariat, to provide content for briefing notes and policy memos


  • Provide coordination support to Global Fund leads engaged in various ACT Accelerator related events, platforms and working groups across the ACT Accelerator Pillars


  • Perform other duties as required by the Head Donor Relations and Deputy Director, External Relations and Communications.

Qualifications


Essential:



  • University degree in social and/or political science, public administration, international relations/development or a comparable academic degree



Experience


Essential:



  • Experience in project management, resource mobilization, or advocacy related to global health or international development/relations


  • Demonstrated high political awareness and advocacy skills


  • Proven analytical thinker with strong problem solving skills


  • Good writing skills, drafting experience, with attention to detail


  • Track record of good communication skills to communicate complex concepts rapidly and effectively


  • Demonstrated ability to take initiatives and to build relationships. Reliable team member with strong interpersonal skills to work in a multi-cultural team and across teams


  • Track record of diplomacy to navigate complex environments


  • Experience and full competency in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint



Desirable:



  • Over 5 years of relevant professional experience


  • Proven track record of coordination, external relations, resource mobilization for a multilateral organization or NGO
