Ihre Aufgaben


Mission


Under the technical supervision of the L&D partner (co-design of L&D strategy of the filière) and the managerial supervision of the Peer Learning Referent, the Medical Flying Coach mentor contributes to the development of Medco/PMR by bringing and individual support based on actions of mentoring and coaching. The mentor/coach focus is on the reinforcement and development of skills and competency. He/She supports the Medco/PMR in the appropriation of the various strategies into the projects, and to strengthen their managerial skills in accordance with the realities of the situations on the ground and the challenges in the mission.


 


Main responsibilities


Carry out first line coaching-mentoring on the field or at distance through the



  • Development and reinforcement of knowledge, aptitudes and skills

  • Consolidation of knowledge regarding policies, standards, guidelines and tools

  • Individual support with mentoring and coaching actions

  • Define the conditions of implementation (before, during and after) of the support.

  • Lead the action of mentoring and coaching in working environment and /or, at distance.

  • Structure the follow-up in terms of skills transfer.

  • Report writing


The main target group: Medical Coordinator and PMR; the target can be expanded to other functions if needed and requested. 


 


Work on capitalization and development of coaching/mentoring documentation



  • Implementation of skill transfer actions and evaluation

  • Assess the Coaching/mentoring support

  • Develop tools

  • Keep inform on the medical department “actualities and activities”.

  • Develop the evaluations of skills transfer in an individualized approach.


 


In exceptional cases, it can be requested to



  • Replace in an ad hoc way coordinator. Possibility of occupying the function of Medical Coordinator - Or other relevant function- if priority for operational line (emergencies, gap)

  • Participate to training deployment:

    1. Facilitate and lead sessions

    2. Develop the evaluations of skills transfer in working situation.

    3. Contribute to the development of the educational methodologies and the trainings contents.

Ihr Profil


Education



  • Medical doctor or nurse

  • Training in tropical medecine and public health

  • Training in mentoring / coaching is an asset


 


Experience



  • Significant MSF field experience including emergency response experience

  • Confirmed expérience as PMR and Medical coordinator with MSF

  • MSF HQ experience is an asset


 


Languages



  • Fluent in English and French (oral and written)

  • A 3rd language would be an asset


 


Competencies



  • Pedagogy, group animation, group dynamic

  • Team and medical management

  • Good knowledge of MSF medico-operational contexts

  • Excellent knowledge on OCG protocols & Guidelines

  • Good knowledge on Team Management & Leadership Skills

Terms of Employment



  • Field-based position with visits to HQ in Geneva.

  • Practical working conditions while in the field are as per the MSF OCG volunteer handbook.

  • Fixed-term contract of 6 months with an occupancy of 50%

  • Ideal starting date: 04.07.2021 

  • Gross monthly salary: CHF 5’500.- for 100% position (proportional to occupancy rate)

  • Social Benefits: Health insurance and living costs in the countries of intervention and at HQ, paid according to internal regulations.
