Associate Director, Commercial Operations- Multiple Sclerosis Portfolio- Biogen Intercontinental Region

Job Description


You will be reporting directly to the Multiple Sclerosis Portfolio Head in the BIR, the Associate Director, Commercial Operations – BIR MS Lead is responsible for Strategic planning for multiple product and LCM launches across BIR affiliates and Operational support of our LATAM (Latin America) & MART (Middle East, Africa, Russia, Turkey) affiliates and partners to maximize the Multiple Sclerosis Portfolio



  1. Strategic Planning: Despite a highly competitive branded and generic market, Biogen has a portfolio of leading MS products that serve the need of many patients with MS. With this there is still opportunity to expand our current portfolio of product in some BIR markets while further meeting patient needs with various upcoming lifecyle management of 3 different MS products.

  2. There is a need to challenge, optimize, and reduce the timeframes of regulatory timelines and approvals of these LCM opportunities. In addition, partner with each affiliates to identify key market drivers, known and unknown opportunities, narratives to differentiate and add patient value, access and pricing strategies to implement, data generation gaps to address, and capabilities to build to optimally launch these significant opportunities into a diverse set of markets. 

  3. Operational support of LATAM  & MART: Support affiliates across all aspects of commercialization and business performance: Strategy; Tactical Execution; Launch Preparation; Best Practice Sharing and Operational Excellence; and delivering on established KPIs. The role will work closely with Cross-Functional Partners across the BIR organization including Commercial, Medical, Value and Access, Regulatory, Customer Insights, and Digital at the Global, Regional, and Local levels. Intent is to collaborate with affiliates, areas, and BIR to meet/ exceed patient and revenue target.


Key responsibilities include:


Strategy



  • Brand strategy development by partnering with Global, US, European Regional, and BIR


  • Establishing a launch sequence strategy for LCMs across BIR geographies


  • Scenario planning for optimal launch strategies for key affiliates



Execution Excellence



  • Global ICP process input, regional activation plan, and regional and local tracking


  • Marketing campaigns and tactic pull thru


  • Competitive readiness


  • Insight generation at regional level



Launch Excellence



  • State of art plans for upcoming launches across multiple countries



Operations and Business Excellence



  • Best practice sharing and enable pull-thru across all geographies


  • Patient Forecasting, Insight & Analytics plan; gap analysis and Identification of solutions



Business Performance



  • Generate reports and lead performance reviews and opportunities across affiliates


  • Be accountable for performance for the oral MS franchise across affiliate and region



People



  • Establish strong relationships with Global/affiliate/regional teams (across functions)


  • Lead cross-functional teams, including broader Commercial functions, Market Access, Medical, Corporate Affairs, Supply Chain, Business excellence, etc.



 


 


Qualifications



  • BS in marketing/biological sciences/clinical laboratory sciences;MBA or PhD in related field preferred


  • 10+ years in pharma / biopharma commercial / commercial marketing required


  • You have demonstrated record in exceeding business performance at a local or regional level and have affiliate, global or regional experience


  • Managed collaborations in a highly matrixed organization without direct authority


  • You will have experience in developing detailed product launch plans at a regional or local level


  • Proven track record of preparing and presenting strategies, plans, reports and performance


  • Strong project management experience


  • You are experienced to work in an ambiguous environment to define strategy and operational plans


  • You look at problems and situations with curiosity and be unafraid to challenge subject matter experts


  • The successful candidate likes to effectively manage multiple priorities and tasks, while adapting to changes and evolving needs


  •  You thrrive to lead, mobilize, and energize stakeholders in a highly matrixed organization without direct authority


  • Establish effective trust-based relationships with internal and external stakeholders


  • You are independent and self-motivated as well as demonstrate analytical thinking and problem-solving orientation


  • Language skills:  your English is fluent, Spanish and/or Portuguese a plus



Additional Information


You will be reporting directly to the Multiple Sclerosis Portfolio Head in the Biogen Intercontinental Region (BIR) the Associate Director, Commercial Operations – BIR MS Lead is responsible for Strategic planning for multiple product and lifecycle managment across variuous upcoming launches across BIR affiliates and Operational support of our LATAM (Latin America) & MART (Middle East, Africa, Russia, Turkey) affiliates and partners to maximize the Multiple Sclerosis Portfolio.


 


You will be based in our International Headquarter in Baar. No direct reports but significant matrix leadership in the BIR diagnostics space.
