Currently, we are looking for a Research Informatics talent with expertise in scientific data management to join us in driving our strategy for the digital transformation of pharmaceutical research in the pre-clinical space.
You will be a key contributor to our strategic initiative on improving the effectiveness of data management and decision making, following the FAIR (findable, accessible, interoperable and reusable) principles for all steps of the drug discovery value chain in pRED
You will establish and nurture effective partnerships with scientists, internal IT specialists and external companies to analyze, assess and optimize scientific data management solutions that support automated data-driven research workflows and AI/ML pipelines
You will lead or contribute to research informatics projects by designing, prototyping and driving the implementation of appropriate data management solutions to optimally support complex research activities
You will consult project teams on data modelling, data architecture, data integration, data storage, and data logistics for existing and new software applications
You will be part of a highly-motivated international team with global footprint
Who you are
You have a university degree, preferably a PhD, in either cheminformatics, computational biology, natural or computer science and professional experience in drug discovery or research informatics
You have advanced skills in understanding, analyzing and modelling scientific data leveraged in pharmaceutical/ life science research
Optimally you have working expertise in building FAIR data management systems that support data pipelines for AI/ML applications
You have software development experience in any scripting or advanced programming language and the ability to understand and translate scientists' needs into data architectures
You have experience in data-engineering toolsets, data warehousing, or data processing solutions and have ideally good knowledge in semantic technologies and semantic data modelling
You are a quick learner, inspired by curiosity, who enjoys entering into new areas to build expertise, and you courageously and creatively take initiative to see your ideas implemented
You are attracted by the challenges of managing informatics projects, and navigate consciously and fluidly between strategic conceptual thinking and detail-oriented planning, prioritization, and task management
You enjoy building and nurturing networks and effective relationships with colleagues and collaborators from diverse scientific disciplines
Your profile is rounded off by having good presentation and communication skills in English language
