Job Description

• Technical lead on demanding, cross-functional development projects under consideration of design control process


• Coordination of design and technology transfer activities to Straumann CADCAM manufacturing plants


• Translation of user needs & market inputs into technical specifications (requirement management)


• Plan, perform and document design verification and validation activities according to quality standards and applicable regulatory (FDA, MDR, ISO) as well as marketing requirements


• Implementation of product and process improvements in quality, usage and cost reductions


• Continuous technical product surveillance (Life Cycle Management)


• Technical lead in root cause investigations


• Be a central point of knowledge and comply with all relevant Product Development guidelines and procedures

Qualifications

• Technical background (BSc or higher) in field of mechanical engineering, biomedical engineering or equivalent


• Experience in a dentistry area and/or development of medical device products is a plus


• Able to develop the skill-set to understand user needs, clinical and laboratory workflows (conventional and digital) in the dental industry and translate them into technical requirements


• Strong analytical skills and result orientated mindset with interest in innovation and new technology 


• Sound knowledge in applicable standards and regulations (FDA, MDR, ISO) and design control processes


• Knowledge and skill-set in the area of product development, manufacturing and testing, with specific development tools (e.g. FMEA, tolerance analysis, analysis of mechanical properties, statistical analysis)


• Effective and fluent communication skills in English & German (spoken & written) due to strong project-related interaction with our sites all over the world. Any other language is a plus.


• Strong interpersonal skills with a high level of integrity, commitment, ethics and proactivity to cultivate a network of productive relationships in an international work environment


• Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks independently to meet the objectives


• Joy, passion and enthusiasm to work in high cross functional teams and environment

Additional Information

This position reports to the Head of Product Development CADCAM and is based at the Corporate Headquarters in Basel, Switzerland.
