IT Security Operations Center Lead

Sonova’s IT Security Operations Centre (SOC) plays a key role in keeping the organization’s systems and information secure and defending Sonova against Cybercriminals. Working closely with internal IT service and application teams, as well as supporting security service providers, the SOC team takes responsibility to identify and respond to security events. The Manager SOC leads his team "hands-on" in the analysis of relevant events across IT infrastructure, devices, and applications. Managing Sonova's security tool set, security operations processes (monitoring, detection, triage, containment, escalation, analysis, remediation and continuous improvement) and prepares security reports/metrics regularly.

The SOC manager builds this team of dedicated specialists, establishing the tools, processes and services to continuously improve the protection of Sonova's assets, brand and reputation.

Your tasks

• Responsible for detecting and assessing cyber security events and incidents across the enterprise


• Collect, aggregate, analyze, triage, and analyses information from multiple logs/events (threat sources)


• Lead the containment of threats and follow-up on the remediation tasks during or after an incident


• Responsible for understanding and analyzing the global threat landscape through working with threat intelligence resources to maintain awareness


• Conduct regular vulnerability scans to identify cyber security risks and coordinate exercises to test and train cyber defense disposition and upkeep of incident management processes


• Contribute expert input into the development and enforcement of  security policies and emergency response procedures


• Manage team performance reviews and development plans, coaching and mentoring team members for continued development and results

Your profile

• Degree in Computer Science or related work experience


• Professional security certifications such as SANS GIAC / GCIH, CompTIA Security, CEH and CCNA or equivalent proven experience, CISSP, MCSE is a plus


• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a related IT management role


• Fluent English skills both written and spoken, German is a plus


• Good analytical & logical problem solving skills


• Ability to communicate technical concepts in business terms and in technical terms, adapting communications to audience, using situational communication styles


• Willingness to travel up to 5-10%
