School MIS and Data Manager

Summary of the role
The school MIS and Data Manager will take overall responsibility for the integrity, integration and reporting of data within the School MIS. This includes the interface of data between our MIS and other systems. They will ensure that the system is developed to meet the needs of the school, from enrolment through to graduation. Reporting to the Head of IT, the MIS Manager will be accountable for ensuring all users are fully trained and processes are in place to maintain the integrity of the school systems and data.
Main duties and responsibilities
Operating the School MIS, UNTIS and the Admission portal
– Running and managing the School MIS, including the quarterly and annual rollover processes for setting up the new terms.
– Participate and, in the mid-term, assume responsibility in the creation and administration of the school timetable using UNTIS.
– Assist with critical updates of the academic timetables throughout the year by taking into account changes to classes, courses, classrooms and student intake.
– Assist the Admission team to ensure that the applications received are complete and legible throughout the enrolment process.
– Act as a key point of contact for user queries on all aspects of the school systems, including the Intranet, the Admissions system and the Parents’ web portal.
– Plan, setup and maintain user access to the school systems. Ensuring data security and correct access profiles to the relevant staff.
– Assist the Sport and Art departments in their planning of quarterly activities. This includes checking the data entered into the system and ensuring compatibility with students’ academic passport choices, and reporting to deans if adjustments are needed.
– Contribute in a significant way to the planning, organisation, training and support of the school systems.
– Overall supervision of data input across our systems to ensure accuracy and optimum performance.
Additional Roles
– Participate in the design and integration of the new School MIS.
– Provide technical support to deans, preparing personalised subject choices for students transitioning between classes or year groups, levels and private lessons for students and parents using online web forms.
– Manage academic policies and procedures (the generation of activity passports, Study Groups, generation of school report and related calculations).
– Develop the use of the Parent Portal as an effective means of communication with the parents.
– In liaison with the IT team ensure security of the databases.
– Create appropriate training materials and undertake the induction of new staff in the use of the school systems.
– Work closely with the IT team and assist with all types of IT support requests.
Experience
– Strong experience in data management and data analysis.
– Solid background in structuring and conceptualising complex tasks.
– Experience in the administration of operational data.
– Experience with data visualisation tools such as PowerBI and SSRS report building.
– IT 1st level support experience an advantage.
Skills & Knowledge
– The ability to work accurately under pressure, and to meet deadlines.
– The flexibility to work during peak busy periods during certain periods of the school year.
– Very good knowledge of Excel and mail merge.
– Knowledge of UNTIS is a strong advantage.
– Knowledge of Salesforce an advantage.
– Knowledge of School MIS or other Management Information Systems.
– Excellent written and spoken communication skills – both in French and English.
