Your responsibilities 


 



  • Autonomous planning and execution of finite element simulation projects for our various business units and their customers

  • Contributing to the concept development, design, dimensioning and analysis of durable machine components and tools for the deep drawing processes of our Business Unit Food & Beverage

  • Providing new and unconventional seal designs in co-engineering projects with customers for our Business Unit Mobility and supporting our engineering, sales, and marketing teams with numerical simulation

  • Evaluation of new simulation methods and tools to further enhance our simulation capabilities, initiation and supervision of collaborative projects with universities and research institutes

  • Providing competent expertise for internal and external customers in all questions concerning structural mechanics, fracture mechanics and fatigue analysis, numerical simulation and product design

  • Documentation of work results in project reports, invention protection by patent application, publication of selected topics in journals or presentations at conferences


 


Our requirements


 



  • A university degree (Master or PhD) in a relevant area, e.g. mechanical engineering, materials science, physics or applied mathematics

  • Strong background in structural mechanics, fracture mechanics, fatigue analysis, experience with multi-physics FE software like ANSYS, additional knowledge in CAD and the use of multibody dynamics software (MBS) is a clear advantage

  • Knowledge of the characterization and modelling of non-linear material behavior, preferably of the plasticization of metals like aluminium or steel, and basic knowledge of metal forming processes

  • Experience with a technical programming language such as MATLAB, Python, Java or APDL

  • Effective project management, analytical mindset, quick grasp of complex tasks, and the ability to work independently and in small cross-functional teams

  • Fluent in German and English (both min. Level C1) with very good conversation and presentation skills

  • A certain degree of flexibility and willingness to travel
