The Compliance Re-Assurance (CR-A) Examiner will conduct reviews of financial crime compliance-related processes and internal controls to assess whether they effectively mitigate the identified compliance risk. This position, within the newly developed Compliance Re-Assurance (CR-A) function, has been created to independently assess and report on the adequacy and effectiveness of the Bank’s Financial Crime Compliance (FCC) Program, including Bank Secrecy Act (BSA)/anti-money laundering (AML), sanctions, and anti-bribery and corruption (AB&C).


Your field of responsibility:



  • Perform ongoing independent CR-A reviews to identify key areas of risk/potential control gaps and evaluate the effectiveness of the Bank’s FCC Program.

  • Provide AML, sanctions, and AB&C subject matter guidance and credible challenge to risk decisions and ongoing remediation efforts, if applicable, of the FCC Program as they relate to managing regulatory risk and strategies.

  • Prepare detailed work papers and develop draft observation reports using templates to support the results of the review and evaluation of testing AML process and related controls. Update CR-A templates and guidance documents, as necessary.

  • Report, communicate, and track identified issues, risks and recommendations to all levels of management. Additionally, assess the remedial actions required and ensure risks are properly remediated.

  • Mange the processes related to issues identified during reviews and associated remediation efforts across all lines of business.

  • Collaborate, develop and maintain strong and effective working relationships with key business partners across all three Lines of Defense including all Business Lines, Compliance personnel, Risk Management, Internal Audit, as well as Data & Technology.


You Offer

 

  • 5 years of experience in financial crimes compliance or financial crime-focused audit or testing roles and 7 years of within a financial institution, investment adviser, broker dealer, federal agency, or financial services/consulting firm, and including experience with institutional products.

  • Deep understanding of front-to-back compliance processes including identifying and evaluating financial crime risks (including AML, sanctions, AB&C), identifying and evaluating controls, determining root causes, and recommending actionable solutions. This should include an understanding of program governance, risk assessment, transaction monitoring, KYC and list screening.

  • Understanding of end-to-end Swiss wealth management AML regulations as well as prior experience demonstrating expertise handling complex clients in multiple jurisdictions, and responding to regulatory inquiries.

  • Experience building a testing program in Compliance is a major plus.

  • Deep understanding of common industry practices and laws applicable to anti-bribery, money laundering, terrorist financing, economic sanctions and other applicable financial crimes, including FINMA and other Swiss regulations.

  • Must be a self-started and bring strong analytical, organizational, communication and writing skills. Ability to read/write in German is a must.
