The Sub Regional Front Risk Manager (SRFRM) supports the frontline, in particular the Sub Region Head Russia, Central & Eastern Europe (RCEE) in the management and control of risks. Where required, the SRFRM advices, as part of RCEE FRM team, on risk related matters, supports/performs controls, reviews the quality of the key controls and enhances the frontline Risk Management and Control Framework in close collaboration with the Head Front Risk Management (Head FRM) of the Region, Head Sub Region FRM (HSRFRM) and other FRMs as well as the 2nd Line of Defense (LoD).



The SRFRM work allocation is split between supporting the RCEE FRM team and giving a special focus/support to the Head Key Clients RCEE.



The SRFRM has a direct or indirect solid reporting line to the Head SRFRM, as well as a business reporting line (dotted) to the Sub Region Head (SRH).

Working as part of the RCEE FRM team :


Risk Framework



  • Supports the setup, operation and maintenance of a consistent and effective Front Risk Management framework – in close coordination with the RCEE FRM team, Head FRM, Head SRFRM, SRH RCEE and the 2nd LOD

  • This includes multiple aspects, specifically related to front related risk governance, policy standards, controls, training and reporting

  • Supports the SRH in building up and maintaining an adequate 1LoD risk governance for the sub region


Risk Assessment and Support



  • Identifies risks, reviews and challenges, processes, systems, people and proposes mitigating measures

  • Supports as part of the RCEE FRM team on thematic and business specific risk reviews

  • Supports/performs the required risk control assessments, guided and supported by the 2nd LoD and/or the Head FRM

  • Supports the Front Management, with a focus on the Head Key Clients, in risk topics related to the whole client life cycle including but not limited to:



  • complex account openings cases (providing enhanced due diligence for risk clients/prospects before starting the on boarding process)

  • complex client periodic reviews (providing support, remediation of escalated cases)

  • exception to policy requests



  • Supports the SRH/Market Head in the elaboration and assessment of Market strategy and business cases to ensure risk management angle is an integral part from the beginning

  • Participates and supports in projects carried out within the Sub Region (provide risk related advice, conducts reviews)

  • Acts as sub regional point of entry and coordinates, mediates between the Front Management and 2LoD

  • Provides risk input to business initiatives/cases or performs client risk assessments for the market

  • Supports the Head FRM and SRFRM on thematic and business specific risk reviews

  • Supports the Front KYC quality assurance team with specific market expertise for their 1 LOD quality controls

  • Supports/monitors clean-up activities and follow-up on 2LoD or Head FRM risk inputs and monitors remediation/mitigation measures and projects within the Sub Region

  • Acts as Subject Matter Expert (SME) for individually assigned topics by the Head FRM and Head SRFRM and interacts closely with various internal stakeholders (e.g. Compliance, Legal, IWMS, Internal Controlling etc.), depending on the topic


Monitoring & Control



  • Monitors risks, manages incidents and remediation measures/projects

  • Performs 1LoD controls according to 1LoD Control Plan as well as front risk management recurring tasks

  • Supports that front related audit issues (regulator, external auditors and GIA) are timely and sustainably resolved

  • Enables supervisory roles to initiate appropriate measures together with stakeholders in case of negative control results (if deemed appropriate), defines and monitors risk mitigating measures


Reporting



  • Prepares the Sub Regional Risk Reporting

  • Participates and leads the Sub Regional risk sessions with regard to risk management topics

  • Supports the Management reporting process

  • Reports misconduct and policy breaches to frontline management (Head FRM)

  • Identifies awareness/training needs when analyzing the risk report findings, prepares and contributes to risk training and awareness campaigns content and supports communication within the frontline


Interaction with Stakeholders



  • Ensures close and systematic collaboration/information flow between the 1st LoD and the 2nd LoD - and 3 LoD where needed

  • Close collaboration with the  Sub Regional Business Support


Special focus support on Key Clients team:



  • With main focus on Full Client Review on the TH and on the RM levels, i.e. to support working off any backlogs and assisting the team with gaining knowledge on how to conduct client reviews, incl. media screening and updating KYC & CRM workflow according to BJB standards

  • Risk Tolerance Exception Requests: Review RTF EtPs prepared by the team

  • Account opening KYC support incl. review of prepared new complex prospects cases

  • AML: Complex transaction scheme for UHNW clients; checks by FRM of provide documentation


IHRE FÄHIGKEITEN



  • University degree or equivalent education in Banking, Compliance, Law, Risk Management or Business Administration

  • At least 5-7 years of professional experience in Front Risk Management, Business Support, Compliance, Legal or Audit

  • Excellent analytical, problem solving and interpersonal skills, as well as a high level of flexibility and adaptability to changes

  • Very good knowledge of MS Office, Excel and PowerPoint skills

  • Experience and/or pre-knowledge in RCEE markets would be a plus

  • Proficient in English; other languages (especially Russian and French) would be a plus

  • Ability to work on own initiative, willing to take on responsibility

  • Ability to oversee complexity and to work under high pressure

  • Professional and convincing communication skills with stakeholders in various roles and functions

  • Decisive, well organized, proactive and act with care and assertiveness
