You will analyze and provide engineering advice on hardware and software issues regarding our imaging technologies for the proton therapy system ProBeam.


Specific Responsibilities



  • Define architecture, guidelines and design of the Proton Therapy Imaging System including HW and Software.

  • Analyze, define system and risk related requirements, architectural aspects and their consequences/needs for the Proton Therapy Imaging System.

  • Investigate system issues in the field that cannot be resolved by Product Support Engineers and/or project teams. Advocate for high quality and reliablilty and avoinding technical debt.

  • Support product management and if required marketing/sales in proton imaging questions

  • Support testing activities with impact assessments and change descriptions, perform physics and measurement testing of the X-Ray/ Imaging systems

  • Follows the advances in system engineering (including tools) and radiation/proton therapy domain and shares knowledge with co-workers.

  • Keeps informed about IEC and other regulations that are relevant for our products

  • You are travelling about 10-20%.


Desired Qualifications



  • Master's degree (or equivalent) in a suitable discipline e.g. engineering, physics or related technical field (or appropriate professional qualification)

  • Experience of 3 years or more in hardware and software design

  • Experience in Radiation Oncology, X-Ray or medical imaging is a plus

  • Strong communication skills with the ability to interact with people

  • Strong committmend to safety and quality

  • Willing to enhance your knowledge on radiotherapy

  • Collaborate effectively on a team of likeminded people. You are resourceful and proactive in gathering information and sharing ideas and have a strong attitude to "get things done"

  • Fluency in written and spoken English


You are analytical, communicative and focused. You work structured and have an eye for details. In addition, you can express your ideas and research in written form. You are used to working independently, open to discussing ideas and solutions with your colleagues. You thrive in an international work environment and in cultivating your contacts with partners in Europe and overseas.
