Job Description




Looking for Clever Heads!

We are looking for an experienced Hardware Test Engineer for performing the hardware characterization of our GNSS products. You will be responsible for performing the tests for the new designs/products, legacy products as well, and expand the test coverage wherever a possible gap is spotted. Part of this role is that after execution, a review of the test results needs to be performed to check that align with expectations and to be able to identify possible issues that might appear. In this role you will be interfacing with product and platform teams as well as our verification and validation team. With your expertise you will also provide interpretation of test results, provide feedback and the possibility to reproduce the issue or propose a solution.
You will be part of the Verification and Validation team, which is responsible for the definition, development, planning, execution and review of the tests of u-blox positioning products. We are a multicultural, friendly and highly collaborative team split between Switzerland and Finland. Your analysis skills will enable you to find issues and work with colleagues to resolve them. And as a team player, you are able to deal with multiple requests, optimizing your daily work according to the priorities you have set with your colleagues.
The role can be located in Thalwil

Your Responsibilities

  • Execute and maintain automated test cases based on requirements and specifications

  • Knowledge of RF signal concepts, noise figure, measurements of key RF parameters

  • Develop, Improve and maintain tests and test environment for Hardware tests

  • Validate accuracy and integrity of automated test results

  • Identify and report defects, and work with developers or Hardware designers to analyze requirements, and reproduce problems to get them resolved

Your Skills and Experience

  • Experience as Test Engineer

  • M.Sc. or B.Sc. in Electrical/Electronic/Hardware Engineering or equivalent experience

  • Familiar with hardware characterization

  • Familiar with C/C++, Python/Perl, linux or similar scripting languages

  • English fluent both written and spoken

  • Pro-active attitude and a strong desire to collaborate

Bonus Point (if applicable, not mandatory)

  • Good understanding of revision control systems (like Git)

  • Experience with lab tools, Oscilloscopes, Multimeters, Spectrum Analyzers

  • Experience on serial communication (uart, usb)

  • Basic understanding of schematics and test board
