We are looking for an experienced and motivated technology practitioner with a passion for creating strategies, best practices and solving complex business challenges focusing on the new Outposts offering. Outposts brings native AWS services, infrastructure, and operating models to virtually any data center, co-location space, or on-premises facility. Customers can use the same APIs, the same tools, the same hardware, and the same functionality across on-premises and the cloud to deliver a truly consistent hybrid experience. Outposts can be used to support workloads that need to remain on-premises due to low latency or local data processing needs. AWS Outposts infrastructure is fully managed, maintained, and supported by AWS to deliver access to the latest AWS services.
As a Solutions Architect for Outposts, you will have the opportunity to help shape and deliver on a strategy to redefine how customers create, compute, and consume cloud services at scale at the edge of the network and across our regions.
In this role, you will work with customers to innovate how they deliver mission critical applications that benefit from having cloud services, much closer to the end user. You will leverage this expertise to guide our largest customers across our DACH and EEM areas.
As a trusted advisor with technical expertise in data center design, application networking and cloud native application designs you will share recommendations around security, cost, performance, reliability and operational efficiency to accelerate key projects at our customers.
Inside AWS, you are an ambassador of our customers. You will articulate customer needs by synthesizing your observations from customer engagements and market trends around edge cloud workloads to inform the roadmap of AWS features.
In this role, your creativity will link technology to tangible solutions, with the opportunity to define and invent native reference architectures for a variety of use cases.
Specialist Solutions Architects are thought leaders in AWS technology and industry trends in the edge cloud space who create and share best practices through white papers, code samples, workshops, user groups and blog posts.

· Experience with design, operation, and implementation of virtualization technologies such as VMware, KVM (Openstack), HyperV (Azure Stack), Xen Hypervisor in enterprise or corporate environments.
· Experience with data center implementations
· Experience with cloud computing and/or related fields (IT, software, etc) including AWS services
· Several years experience with Linux or Unix infrastructure
· Strong hands-on experience in datacenter networking and cloud native networking
· Strong hands-on experience with Block, Object and/or File storage
One or more of the following qualifications are desired but not required:
· Experience working in a customer-facing role, creating technical content or delivering enablement sessions.
· Experience with cloud technologies including relevant industry certifications (e.g. AWS Solutions Architect Associate or Professional)
· Experience in DevOps, experience deploying and operating cloud native applications
· Technical degree (Maths, Science, Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology or similar)
· Progressive experience working with business development, enterprise account management, strategic partnerships, software development and/or program/product teams
· Experience with machine learning and deep learning software platforms.
· MBA / MS or equivalent relevant business experience.
· Strong verbal and written communications skills are a must.
