Overview of Role

Rothschild & Co Bank AG in Zurich is a Swiss Financial Institution within the meaning of the Common Reporting Standard (CRS). The bank implemented all the measures required by the Swiss legislation implementing the CRS, including registration as Financial Institution, review and documentation of pre-existing accounts, adequate documentation of new accounts, identification and reporting of reportable accounts and information to clients.

The regulatory requirements and procedure applied by the bank are not yet documented in a complete and comprehensive manner. The bank therefore would like to formalize the CRS governance in a set of documents describing applicable processes, roles and controls. In addition, after a couple of years of the application of the CRS, there is a need to review them and establish potential gaps and weaknesses.

Therefore, a review of the existing governance, closing gaps where necessary, recommending improvements, is required as well.

The result of the project should be a set of draft CRS governance documentation that would ensure CRS compliance of the bank. This documentation, subject to the approval by the bank, will be subject to internal and external audits. It is therefore of the essence that all relevant regulatory requirements are covered. In particular, the following processes should be documented:

  • Client onboarding (CRS guide for client onboarding team)

  • Monitoring of CRS status of clients (change in circumstances) and managing changes

  • Indicia search and review

  • Review of reportable accounts and reporting

  • Client communication and information

Identified gaps and recommendations on closing them should be summarized in a separate document. This is a fixed-term internship position for 4 – 6 months with an ideal start date of May or June 2021.
