About the role

Do you want to run a business like a CEO and shape Swiss Re's long-term strategy? Our team of reinsurance professionals is looking for a strong leader with forward thinking mind to own, steer and grow our Reinsurance Cyber portfolio!

Your main responsibilities:

•     Acting as go-to person for the Cyber portfolio with strong collaboration across the organisation (incl. Client Management, Business Management, Transactions, Solutions).


•     Steering the business through the whole lifecycle, from planning to run-off (incl. defining portfolio priorities, developing dedicated strategic & financial plans, and setting & communicating binding, ambitious portfolio goals for the P&C Re community).


•     Actively owning the P&L and shaping the future of your portfolio (e.g. resource allocation, UW development)


•     Underwriting large individual contracts and acting as key referral point for Cyber reinsurance deals.


•     Leading both a diverse cross-functional Portfolio XFT that helps in providing timely, relevant and actionable portfolio information (regular interactions) and a small Centre/product team.


•     Being the spokesperson and thought leader for the portfolio, representing it externally and internally (e.g at senior management meetings, Board reviews).


•     Owning the global product strategy for Cyber Reinsurance including determining risk appetite, underwriting standards, underwriting authorities and assessing new products.

About you

•     University degree or equivalent


•     Deep and extensive knowledge of and experience in international insurance and/or reinsurance business


•     At least 10 years of insurance/reinsurance experience, mostly with a focus on Cyber Underwriting


•     Deep understanding of risk, control and governance


•     Comprehensive knowledge of products and processes across regions for adjacent P&C lines of business


•     High commercial awareness, with experience of direct involvement in client and market issues


•     Excellent people management and interpersonal skills; able to motivate, develop and coach cross functional and multi-cultural teams


•     Technological capabilities and data analytical skills including forward-looking views of your risk pool


•     Strong in articulating and communicating clearly your vision, strategy and the operational steps that need to be taken
