We are looking for Strategy Operations Manager to join our Thomson Reuters Enterprise Center in Zug.
Strategy Operations Manager will be responsible for the operational excellence and performance management capabilities of the Corporate Strategy team. The team is comprised of ~30 people working across the U.S., Europe, and India, with additional stakeholders in LATAM and ANZ.
The position will play a key role in optimizing the contribution which Corporate Strategy makes to the success of Thomson Reuters. It will involve managing the team’s current portfolio and pipeline of strategic projects includes resourcing, progress reporting and communications. It will also include establishing approaches to knowledge capture and sharing. The ideal candidate will have experience of resource management in a professional services or agile operating environment.
The individual will also have responsibility for defining and managing effective business processes and supporting systems for the team. It will include coordination with HR, Finance and other business functions, including implementation of relevant initiatives. He/she will be responsible for budget planning, measurement and analytics across the function. The role may also include support for decisions to purchase outside consulting.
A key aspect of the role will be communications and engagement both within the team and more broadly across Thomson Reuters with the wider strategy community and key stakeholders.
ABOUT THE ROLE
As Strategy Operations Manager, you will:
Design and implement the Corporate Strategy operating model – a transparent, open and fact-based decision-making process.
Define and operationalize the prioritization criteria, mechanisms and cadence to be deployed within the Corporate Strategy organization.
Collect project requests and work with the Strategy Leadership team and other key stakeholders within the company to prioritize requests. Compare needs vs. skillset & availability
Work with strategy leaders in resourcing and scheduling projects
Identify opportunities for collaboration and knowledge-sharing across the team
Manage view of team capabilities, including key skills in individual profiles and areas for capability building – working with HR on team building and training
Develop & share insights, processes & governance best practices & learnings for company-wide agile efforts
Partner with leadership team to ensure operating mechanisms are being put to use and followed
Participate in the definition of the annual team goals in line with Corporate Strategy’s plans for each year
Identify trends both internally and externally that the group can incorporate
Ensure all departmental priorities are executed on time and on budget
Work with leadership team to identify communications plan/strategy and ensure communications plan is followed, both within the Corporate Strategy team and with key internal and external stakeholders
ABOUT YOU
To be considered for the role of Strategy Operations Manager, you will have:
Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Finance or similar discipline preferred
Minimum four years of experience in business planning, analysis, process improvement, operations management in a dynamic business environment
Experience working with senior leadership teams within a large, diverse organization and understanding unique business needs
Possesses strong communication skills and capable of engaging effectively with a range of senior individuals
Experience in developing and implementing business-wide strategies and programs
Experience in project and program management and proven ability to leverage financial business drivers in a global business operation.
Experience in resourcing deployment in a professional services organization or similar capacity is helpful
Experience in coordinating global teams to achieve common goals and navigate complex organizational change
Demonstrates ability to integrate with broader corporate frameworks and methodologies
Strong financial and business acumen
