The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) works worldwide to provide humanitarian assistance to people affected by conflict and armed violence. We take action in response to emergencies and at the same time promote respect for international humanitarian law. We are an independent and neutral organization, and our mandate stems essentially from the Geneva Conventions of 1949. We work closely with National Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies and with their International Federation in order to ensure a concerted, rational and rapid humanitarian response to the needs of the victims of armed conflict or any other situation of internal violence. We direct and coordinate the international activities conducted in these situations.


Purpose of the position


 


The ICRC is undergoing a tech transformation and requires ICT to shift from a client/supplier legacy to a strategic partner role.  The BRM role is key in this shift to act as a liaison on the strategy, portfolio and service management levels between ICT and Business departments.

Within the ICT Division we are looking for a Business Relationship Manager to support our Communication & Information Management, Digital Transformation and Data customers. In this position the BRM will help us break down silos and build stronger relationships between ICT and business counterparts.


Main duties and responsibilities part 1


 


At an ICT organizational level



  • Strongly contribute of the BRM practice from set-up to monitoring and evolution;

  • Work as part of the BRM team of 3 BRMs covering all ICRC Business departments;

  • Work with the Tech Leadership team to ensure consistent communication on the ICT portfolio of projects and products supporting Communication & Information Management (CIM) and Digital Transformation & Data (DTD and Data) departments.


Main duties and responsibilities part 2


 


At strategic level



  • Support development of multi-year business capability roadmaps in line with CIM, DTD and ICT strategies and orientations;

  • Support the agile transformation with the view to acting as a Value Stream Lead in the mid-term;

  • Help identify risks and opportunities between CIM, DTD and ICT projects and roadmaps;

  • Work with other BRMs to identify cross-business risks, opportunities or dependencies;

  • Supports Service Reviews and deliver further means of evaluating customer satisfaction;

  • Work with ICT Platform Owners to maintain creativity and innovation by staying on top of industry and technological trends.


 


At operational level



  • Act as Project Manager up to 40% of the time on projects supporting the CIM and DTD roadmaps; support the demand process, helping frame new project requests submitted to the PMO;

  • Support the agile transformation; in the short-term act as an Agile Coach, supporting ICT and Business project stakeholders to ensure an agile project delivery;

  • Work with the Enterprise Architecture team, creating and maintaining Business Solution maps for all capabilities, processes, data and tools supporting CIM and DTD;

  • Coordinate and monitor ICT Project Build, Maintenance and Support/Run activities with the relevant teams, acting as a Service Manager;

  • Act as a facilitator to involve the right ICT subject matter specialists when needed, answering any “who I go to” questions regarding ICT organization and processes;

  • As required, acts as a point of escalation in addition to existing governance instances.


Education and experience required


 



  • University Degree (Uni, EPF, HEC) or equivalent qualification;

  • 5+ years in a Business Relationship, Service Management or Account Management role particularly in Communication, Information and Data Management or Digital Transformation sectors;

  • 10+ years of experience managing successful projects/programmes and delivering solutions with ICT components, particularly in backbone processes, ERP and CRM solutions;

  • Experience with Agile methodology and Software Development Projects;

  • Understanding of Cloud architecture: SaaS, PaaS models;

  • Excellent command of English; proficiency in French is an asset.


 



  • Asset for the position:

  • Field Experience with ICRC or with other humanitarian organization;

  • Project Management certification (Hermès, Prince 2, PMI, IPMA);

  • Experience in Release Management (maintenance).
