Who we are looking for


You are an experienced Credit Analyst who will build and manage an investment analysis framework for listed fixed income securities with a global and buy-side approach to credit and impact investing in Emerging and frontier markets.


Based in our Head office in Geneva, you will be part of the Portfolio Solutions Team.


Job Description



  • Review, screen investment opportunities in the listed-bond space and make investment recommendations to investor clients and portfolio managers

  • Build internal know-how and expertise on the integration of ESG risks into the investment analysis process of listed securities and implications on credit risk dynamics

  • Oversee the production of investment and research analysis materials supporting investment recommendations

  • Keep abreast of top-down dynamics, global developments in impact investing, sustainability, macroeconomics and factor relevant findings in the research and investment analysis processes

  • Build and maintain a network of relations with brokers, investment banks, development finance institutions and fellow institutions for market and research intelligence acquisition on upcoming eligible bond issuances

  • Provide assistance in the planning, execution and settlement of transactions in private markets when necessary

  • Assist fund managers in the monitoring of covenant breaches and workout cases

  • Coordinate the bottom-up research and act as the focal point for sell-side research and main representative for sell-side investment analysts

  • Proactively participate in Symbiotics’ project management governance on issues related to investment origination and, research and analysis, most particularly on ESG and impact measurement

  • Assist the senior management in business development efforts, assist sales and relationship managers in the production of ad-hoc material (reports, analyses) and participate in stakeholder meetings and industry events when necessary

  • Proactively participate in cross-functional initiatives aimed at improving learning, knowledge transfer, operations, technologies and infrastructure at Symbiotics

  • Uphold productivity and efficiency gains through constant improvement and self-driven questioning of the status quo


Requirements


You have the following skills and competencies:



  • A minimum of 7 years of professional experience related to credit analysis or investment analysis on financial institutions

  • Experience in credit rating and sustainable assessment of financial institutions based in emerging and frontier markets is a strong asset

  • Organized, autonomous, and able to work in a dynamic and challenging environment, with a strong interest for sustainable investing a good understanding of the specifics of sustainable finance in emerging and frontier markets

  • A degree (bachelor or above) in finance or economics

  • Outstanding writing and analytical skills and a thorough knowledge of both credit risk and country risk

  • A professional certification in finance is a strong asset, CFA is preferred

  • Highly motivated with a drive for sustainable development and a strong interest for geopolitics, demographics, environmental challenges

  • A strong work ethic, a high degree of integrity and a self-imposed aversion for errors. Proactive and able to work independently

  • Ability to deal with multiple stakeholders and operate in a multi-cultural and fast-paced work environment with a variety of situations, agendas and expectations

  • Top-tier proficiency in Excel, other MS Office tools and Bloomberg

  • Solid interpersonal, communication and presentation skills

  • Fluent in English. French is a plus, as well as a third language

  • Swiss/EU nationals or valid Swiss Work Permit is required
