The Ecosystem Insights (EI) team provides strategic thoughts to teams across Global Product Strategy (GPS). The EI team is responsible for ensuring that the voice of the customer is factored into business decisions and strategies to ensure that Roche's Pharma business is intervening to co-create solutions where needed in the healthcare ecosystem. The EI team is responsible for providing unbiased, objective, expert and tailored strategic insights. This team will work in collaboration with the other parts of GLIDE (Global Insights and Digital Engagement) i.e. the Advanced Analytics for Business Insights, Competitive Intelligence and Digital Excellence teams to develop customer-centric solutions to bring value to the healthcare ecosystem and ultimately better outcomes for patients.
In the role of an Integrated Insights Lead, you will act as an internal strategic consultant, thought partner, and decision leader to cross-functional teams (commercial, access and medical) in a disease or other assigned business area, e.g. pipeline or portfolio.
You will apply critical thinking to solve real or potential business problems, influence cross-functional team strategy (Marketing, Medical Affairs, Development, Regulatory, Portfolio Planning, Pricing/Market Access) and inform the team’s business objectives and decision-making.
Moreover, you will be able to take on the role of a career coach to support professional growth of the junior team members and ensure they develop expertise and skills needed to advance within and outside the EI team.
You will be a member of the Ecosystem Insights team and will report to the Enabling Team.
Responsibilities:
Develop and apply an in-depth understanding of the relevant internal and external landscape
Work with cross-functional teams to understand their broader business objectives and goals (both stated and unstated)
Expertly evaluate strategies, plans and tactics to identify research, competitive intelligence, forecasting, analysis and insights needs
Consult teams on how best to address business needs, and planning an Insights strategy (via PMR, SMR, CI, forecasting, other)
Partner with others to evaluate Insights strategies and needs and determine the most efficient and effective ways/means by which to achieve these, including leveraging current or past efforts in similar products and/or markets
Evaluate information from various sources (commercial, access and medical) in order to provide insights and strategic direction
Inform key questions from development decisions to market positioning for launching into ambitious environments
Use analogs or other creative means when needed to solve problems
Track and communicate the impact of a dynamic marketplace with changing levels of competitive intensity, commercial, access and regulatory pathways
Representing and defending your assessments to others to drive strategic decisions
Engage with audiences at all levels across the organization and influence without authority
Key Qualifications and Experience Required:
We seek a motivated individual, with strong communication skills and having experience working in pharmaceutical industry and strategic analytics and insights. Specifically, you will possess the following:
A Bachelor’s degree (preferably in science, engineering, or a business discipline); an MBA, PhD or other graduate- or post-graduate-level degree is an asset
An average of 8 – 10 years’ strategic consulting or related experience, including an emphasis on strategic analytics and insights, knowledge of strategic market research, competitive intelligence and business forecasting
Global bio/pharmaceutical experience is strongly preferred
Previous experience supporting bio/pharma product launch strategy
Strong communication, presentation and facilitation skills, including fluent written and verbal English. An additional language is a plus
Proven effectiveness communicating and engaging partners, stakeholders and influencers across organizational levels
Proven track record as an independent self-starter with critical thinking and strong problem-solving skills
