Senior Risk Manager - Zurich/Dublin/Paris


We are looking to hire a Senior Risk Management (re-)insurance professional in Zurich (other European locations will be considered) to join the European Risk team and support PartnerRe’s Non-Life insurance carrier PartnerRe Ireland Insurance dac.



The position reports to the Chief Risk Officer of the European entities. The European Risk team works with all main functions including Underwriting, Actuarial, Finance, Investments, Compliance and Operations and covers
all risk categories (underwriting, investment, financial and operational risks). PartnerRe Ireland Insurance dac writes Non-Life insurance and facultative reinsurance business world-wide.


 


The role provides the opportunity for exposure to a wide variety of risk management topics and processes within Solvency II (head office in Ireland) and the regulatory framework of the UK branch. The business and risk focus is global.
You will be expected to make a significant contribution to PartnerRe’s risk management activities to support a complex and diverse portfolio of risks. You will also play a pivotal role in the interaction and collaboration with other core functions within the European entity and relevant Group functions.
In more detail, your responsibilities will include:


 



  •  Contribute to or lead risk management processes of PartnerRe Ireland Insurance dac and its UK branch in conjunction with the Chief Risk Officer, including: 


    •   Ensuring appropriate risk governance structures are in place and effective

    •   Ensuring the risk identification and assessment process (Non-Life,                  investment/financial and operational risks) is adequate to the risk profile        of the Company.

    •   Challenging and evolving the Company’s Risk Appetite Framework.

    •   Contributing to risk monitoring and ensuring adequate reporting to the            Board and its Committees.

    •   Developing and evaluating stress testing for quantifiable risks.

    •  Responding to new regulatory developments within Solvency II and the         regulatory frameworks of the UK branch. 


  • Support the Chief Risk Officer and the legal entity management team      (General Manager, Head of Finance) on risk management topics such as liquidity, asset-liability management, foreign exchange risk management and review of underwriting and investment transactions.

  • Contribute to Group initiatives within Risk Management as they relate to  PartnerRe Ireland Insurance dac.


 


About You:



  • You have a quantitative background with mathematical or actuarial education and at least 5-10 years of experience in the Non-Life (re-)insurance industry.

  • You have a good knowledge of Solvency II and are comfortable working with the Actuarial and Finance functions on technical topics.

  • You have broad-based knowledge of Non-Life underwriting, investment and operational risks and the ability to assess risks and governance structures.

  • You enjoy collaborating with a broad range of professionals, are structured and organized.

  • You write and present clearly and succinctly and have a strong work ethic and commitment to meeting deadlines.
