Job Description
The Novartis Institutes for Biomedical Research (NIBR) is the innovation engine of Novartis. We collaborate across scientific and organizational boundaries, with a focus on powerful new technologies that facilitate the development of therapeutic breakthroughs for patients.
The candidate is part of the Lab2Lab and Building2Buildign project team. He will work closely together with the Engineering team and internal scientists to deliver results of the highest quality. The goal is to develop a retrieval rack for Building2Building samples: the new technical solution enables associates to retrieve samples of small volumes (350 uL) from other building, by means of pneumatic transportation, and identify their samples by outstanding retrieval positions in the rack.
YOUR RESPONSIBILITY INCLUDES BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:
- Responsibilities include computer-aided design (CAD) of the new retrieval rack.
- Operate 3D printers to produce required prototype modules for feasibility studies of the new technical solution.
- Connect with the vendor of Lab2Lab technology to understand the needs of software programming to be able to integrate the new device into existing Lab2Lab technology.
KEY REQUIREMENTS:
- Alignment of Lab Operations Services with business and operations strategy.
- Measurement through KPIs and customer satisfaction surveys.
- Achievement of service levels corresponding to industry best practice (price/ performance etc.)
• Desire individuals with strong experimental background
• Fluent in German, English written & spoken
• Solid computer modeling experience and CAD
• 3D additive manufacturing experience a plus
• Good IT skills with strong interest in modern 3D printing technologies
• Knowledge of SolidWorks 3D designer software advantageous
