The Institute for Nursing Science (INS) of the Medical Faculty of the University of Basel is one of Europe's leading centers for nursing science (nursing.unibas.ch/de/home/).
Within the Swiss health care system, the INS is leading and setting trends and enjoys an excellent reputation in research and education both nationally and internationally. The offered professorship includes opportunities to further develop research-driven interprofessional innovations, particularly by applying the methods of clinical and health services research as well as implementation science within the INS's clinical, health policy and interdisciplinary practice partnerships.

Your position

• Establishment of a research program with a focus on Innovation in Care Delivery in inpatient, outpatient and/or notably long-term care settings.


• Participation in the further development of INS interdisciplinary (research) partnerships, teaching in the master curriculum in nursing science and supervision of doctoral students.


• Role within the INS leadership team (i.e., management of one or more departments of the INS) with a commitment to strategic innovation in education, research and clinical care.

Your profile

• PhD in a health science relevant field and clinical background as a nurse.


• Successful scientific portfolio in the field of Nursing Science / Health Services Research, including implementation research.


• Proof of successful interdisciplinary collaboration.


• English and German language skills (or willingness to learn the German language within one year at B2 level)
