Job Description

The Global Scientific Communications Lead will be responsible for all aspects of scientific communications for assigned Oncology product, including;

1) managing publication strategy, planning and execution,

2) coordinating global medical education strategy, planning and execution to ensure awareness of key data and scientific platform for AAA radioligand therapy (RLT) products to internal and external stakeholders.



Major Accountabilities:



1. Managing cross-functional publication teams and to plan, develop and implementation of publication plans.



2. Development of a comprehensive communication strategy/ plan with cross functional alignment. Will be member of Integrated Disease & Medical Team (IDMT) and ensures regional/country alignment of publications and medical education.

• Drive implementation and dissemination of global scientific communications plan

• Drive/Support execution of global medical education activities (live and enduring)

• Collaborate across Global Medical Affairs (GMA) for development of internal medical education content and training materials

• Manage and oversee the development of clinically focused communications including abstracts, posters, presentations, manuscripts, core slide decks, and evidence-based scientific platforms.



3. Responsible/accountable for congress scientific communications

• Develop internal global communications and education on data interpretation and implications for RLT products

• Presentation to upper management, regions & countries



4. Establish strong working relationships and actively collaborates with key internal and external stakeholders including medical experts, speakers, consultants, patient advocacy groups, professional societies.



5. Responsible for alignment of global medical education needs with regional/country needs

• Develop/support development of core set slide decks and other educational/training resources (including newsletters, external electronic platform and key article annotations/ MS Teams trainings)

• Serve as project manager for communications around scientific and medical projects



6. Manage all aspects of publication and medical education agencies in support of scientific communications. Identify and screen appropriate vendors, solicit, evaluate and approve proposals.



7. Ensure compliance with all legal regulatory and AAA/Novartis requirements for scientific communications (publications and medical education materials).



8. Manage all financial and contractual aspects of assigned projects, including vendor negotiations. Develop yearly budget for assigned products and manage monthly spend within allocated budget



9. Contributes to / leads medical education or publication excellence projects across Scientific Engagement & Communications (SEC) Department obtaining input from other line functions.



10. Becoming subject matter, developing and updating strategic scientific platform for a given therapeutic area to be used by global cross-functional teams

Minimum requirements

Ideal Background:



Education:

Advanced scientific degree (PhD, PharmD, or MD)



Languages:

Fluent English (oral and written)



Experience:

Minimum 5 yrs experience (with 2 years in Pharma/Biotech Industry) in publication planning and/or medical education activities and Scientific Communication

Experience in the development of communication strategies & key scientific platforms with a proficient level of understanding of pharmaceutical business, including drug development process, and legal/compliance global environment.



2 yrs Oncology related experience (preferred)



Experience in the development of communication strategies & key scientific platforms.



Ability to provide strategic insight into scientific expert development activities, publication planning plus developing medical education materials and programs that support product launches in oncology.



Experience in planning and executing live educational events and enduring materials and/or experience in driving the development of scientific messaging and execution of publications preferred



Expert project management and budget management experience.
