Job Description
200+ compounds in Novartis are supported by biostatisticians in 10+ sites around the globe. Biostatisticians transform clinical data into analyses that build the basis for making innovative drugs accessible for patients. They influence decision-making in cross-functional international teams from early to late phase drug development.
Come to an industry leader where you will be responsible for all statistical work, scientific and operational, in collaboration with the clinical trial team. You will have the opportunity to support trial/project/disease-level deliverables for clinical development/research projects with supervision. You will develop and implement modern and innovative clinical trial/experimental designs, statistical methodology in collaboration with a cross-functional team within full development. This role enables working independently at the trial level and may lead to indication or project level statistical activities for a clinical development project.
This position will be filled at level commensurate with experience (may be hired at the Principal or Senior Principal level).
Your tasks:
• All statistical tasks on the assigned clinical trials
• Protocol development in alignment with the development plan, developing statistical analysis plan, reporting activities
• Planning and execution of exploratory analyses and statistical consultation within your cross-functional teams
• Lead the development and implementation of innovation in statistical methodology and trial design
• Have opportunity to explain statistical methodology and analysis results to cross-functional teams and support regulatory submission to bring new treatments to patients
• Contribute to external engagement with consultants, advisory boards, health authorities, congresses, and scientific meetings
• Mentor new hires and/or junior Statisticians
Minimum requirements
What you’ll bring to the role:
• Masters or PhD in Statistics or equivalent
• Work experience applying your statistical knowhow in clinical research (e.g. in a pharmaceutical company, Clinical Research Organization or academic environment)
• Working knowledge of machine learning methods
• Excellent programming skills: SAS and/or R, Python
• Fluent in English
