Position Summary

As a Junior Research Assistant, you will plan, execute and report laboratory, experimental kitchen and pilot plant activities according to project planning, in compliance with good laboratory practices and safety rules.
This position is particularly dedicated to research and development of new plant-based food and beverage products. Join our team efforts to develop new great tasting food products relating to relevant and emerging consumer trends towards a healthier and more sustainable lifestyle.
 


A day in the life of a Junior Research Assistant


 



  • Plan and execute design of experiments according to projects objectives and timeline 

  • Deliver high quality results and contribute / drive reporting (e.g. memo) and presentation of results to project team or stakeholders

  • Develop and prepare prototypes of plant-based foods and beverages with an aim to translate them to pilot scale trials

  • Contribute to team's new ideas generation and product concepts & prototypes creation

  • Proactively contribute to technical knowledge building and its internal leveraging (through training and coaching)

  • Work in collaboration with other technicians and scientists on various projects in parallel

  • Compliance with practices and procedures defined by Nestlé Good Laboratory Practices

  • Responsible for Quality, Safety, Health and Environment (QSHE) within own area
     


What will make you successful


 



  • Practical experience in important experimental techniques in the area of food materials, emulsions and foams or related product areas (e.g. cosmetics or pharma industry)

  • Good knowledge of material science of foods and beverages – previous experience with plant-based food and beverage products is a plus

  • Demonstrated creativity and initiative as well as curiosity to explore new methods

  • 1-3 years of R&D experience in product development. Knowledge on food processes and technology at lab scale and pilot scale would be a plus

  • Up to date knowledge of QSHE and Good Laboratory Practices requirements
