Job description


Molecular Partners is a thriving and steadily growing clinical-stage biopharmaceutical company working to advance modern medicine and significantly improve the management of serious diseases. We are developing a powerful new class of potent, specific and versatile small protein therapies called DARPin® proteins. The development of a broad portfolio of therapeutic product candidates in oncology and ophthalmology allowed a successful listing of the company on the SIX Swiss Exchange (MOLN).


We are expanding our team and looking for a motivated and highly experienced Scientist for a role as biology lead for our pipeline of Oncology/ Immuno-oncology projects. In this central role you will be a key member of the research team.


This interesting and diverse opening will include the following tasks and responsibilities:


·         Provide oncology/ immune-oncology content knowledge in multi-disciplinary project team for the development of therapeutic DARPins


·         Lead biology activities of project team to generate high quality biology data


·         Responsible for data quality of biological activities within project team, biological content project documentation and communication


·         Contribute to in vitro data generation with state-of-the-art cell biology expertise


·         Effectively lead, motivate and engage biology team members


·         Contribute to initiation of new project ideas


Requirements


For this challenging position, we are looking for a highly motivated individual with a Ph.D. in biology or a related discipline, or an equivalent qualification, with a minimum 4 years of relevant experience in oncology research. Experience in pharmaceutical industry or Biotech drug discovery and development is a plus. You should further bring along:


·         Excellent understanding of challenges and problems in cancer therapy and the biology of cancer


·         Expert knowledge in cell biology, immunology and/or oncology including hands-on experience allowing you to plan, coordinate and perform experimental work and to interpret the data in a brought context


·         Strategic thinking and operational know-how


·         Experience in working in teams and to guide teams


·         Ability to develop new project ideas and to design critical experiment to verify and falsify hypotheses


·         Excellent communication, presentation and organization skills


·         An accurate and independent working style


·         Sound oral and written English is a must


·         A passion for applied, goal-oriented science
