PACS Technician(Remote)


 The incumbent will provide IT support to end users who transfer DICOM images to Zimmer Biomet as part of a patient specific device.   IT support responsibilities includes installation of DICOM transfer software, VPN connections, trouble shooting, problem management and apply analytical and problem-solving skills to help identify, communicate and resolve systems issues in order to ensure the efficiency and ease of transferring DICOM images to Zimmer Biomet.


Principal Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Responsible for IT activities related to processes of user access and customer connection to ensure seamless DICOM transfer between Zimmer Biomet and their customers; also be responsible for documenting and communicating processes to IT to ensure consistent user experience

  • Responsible for troubleshooting VPN tunnels and configuration

  • Responsible for troubleshooting DICOM transfer software and configuration

  • First call support for Zimmer Biomet customers transferring images to them

  • Identify trends of recurring issues for clients, radiologists and IT, and manage problems by working with resources (internal and vendors) to achieve a permanent solution

  • Ensure proper notification of ongoing issues to the team and any work-around solutions until a permanent resolution is established

  • Manage planned and unplanned downtimes following downtime procedures, document and communicate problems and escalate as needed


Expected Areas of Competence (knowledge, skills and abilities):


  • Knowledge of technology and a basic understanding of supported products - covers installation, configuration, and troubleshooting of products provided those products meet pre-defined standards

  • Knowledge of PACS systems and radiology workflows required

  • Good communication and interpersonal skills are a must

  • Analytical and problem-solving abilities are required.  Must have flexibility to re-prioritize tasks as needs change


Education/Experience Requirements:


  • Associates Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology preferred

  • Experience or coursework in hardware and networks required

  • Prior experience in Healthcare IT helpful

  • Ability to communicate clearly in verbal and written form in English. Interact with staff and management at all levels of the Zimmer Biomet organization and its customers

  • Candidates must have excellent oral and written communication skills, particularly proficient telephone etiquette


Location:

This position will be virtual (remote) and could be potentially located in Belgium, the Netherlands, Germany, Poland or the UK.  Travel Requirements: Up to 5%.
