For the Strategic Competence Center «Industry & Society Services» within Karger Labs, the Karger arm focused on strategy, innovation and product development, we are looking for a motivated person to join our increasingly agile organization as a

Strategic Competence Specialist, Industry & Society Services (60%)

In this role you will support the Strategic Competence Lead in controlling, co-developing, and communicating the entire product and service portfolio of Karger Publishers for the Health Sciences Industry and Medical Societies/Professional Association.  

This multifaceted role includes:

• Liaison with the Insights and Community Relations teams to expand market and persona knowledge


• Regular exchange with internal divisions to integrate needs and possible value propositions into the constant development of the portfolio


• Support in monitoring and controlling of the entire Industry and Society Services business of Karger Publishers


• Optional: Support in pre-sales/project management meetings with key accounts

Qualification and experience required:

• Graduated commercial apprenticeship and/or University degree or similar education


• Professional training and experience in medical/scientific publishing and/or health sciences sector a plus


• Several years of relevant work experience in similar function a plus


• Strong conceptual and analytical skills


• Highly service – and goal orientated with a strong sense of responsibility and aptitude in integrating the needs of various stakeholders


• Independent, open-minded, innovative personality with strong communication and inter-personal skills


• Structured and goal-oriented, a “getting things done” mentality, customer- and service-oriented


• Language skills – German & English: very good, both written and spoken (additional languages a plus)


• Excellent IT knowledge (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
