Senior Onsite Support Engineer (Lausanne, IT Support, MS Office, HW maintenance, CompTIA, MCITP, MOS, French)

We are currently looking for a Senior Onsite Support Engineer in Lausanne, Switzerland to join our team on client’s side. A great opportunity to work in the IT industry with exposure to new technologies, in an international environment. The opportunity has a strong focus on service orientation.


 


Major Accountabilities



  • Maintain the integrity of all computer workstations and associated software within the organization

  • Act as the main point of contact for employees who are experiencing computer issues

  • Ongoing maintenance and future planning needs of the company's desktop infrastructure

  • Monitor the performance of the company's desktop infrastructure and make suggestions for improving efficiency

  • Evaluate applications and software patches for desktop applications to see if they will solve desktop issues

  • Resolve software, hardware and device issues reported by the end users (including IMAC/D, Printers, mobile device hardware issues)

  • Installation, configuration and ongoing usability of desktop hardware and software

  • IT support relating to Conference Room Equipment, as well as providing technical support at events

  • Support services for Client standard technologies including basic troubleshooting of Exchange and adds/moves/changes for AD accounts

  • Work with the project management team on PC builds and network equipment deployments

  • Troubleshoot PC connectivity issues and network elements including ISP circuits, firewalls, network switches, wireless equipment and telephone system

  • Installation of packaged software and authorized 3rd party software

  • Remote access solution (VPN) implementation and support

  • Document and update the local client environment

  • Escalate service issues when required

  • Communication with customers/end users as required, keeping them informed of incident progress, notifying them of impending changes or agreed outages

  • Monitor network performance for availability, utilization and latency. Take the appropriate measures to resolve throughput issues, escalating to the support team as required

  • Oversee the maintenance and tracking of assets, complete physical inventory

  • Business Continuity & Disaster Recovery testing

  • Advise and train staff on computer operations and software applications


Skills and Requirements:



  • Good understanding of Information Technology; trends, products and solutions

  • 2+ years’ experience in a similar position supporting a variety of technologies and services

  • In depth knowledge of:


    • Windows OS (Windows 7 & 10)

    • Microsoft Office & Office 365 applications

    • PC\Laptop hardware

    • PC\Laptop peripherals, including printers

    • Mobile devices


  • Basic knowledge of


    • Active Directory

    • Exchange

    • Apple OS


  • Holding at least 2 of the following certifications:


    • PC\Laptop OEM Maintenance

    • CompTIA A+ Certification

    • Microsoft Certified IT Professional

    • (MCITP) certification in desktop area

    • Microsoft Office Specialist (MOS) certification




  • Customer focused with a passion and drive for customer satisfaction and delivering business values

  • Advanced technical abilities including solid troubleshooting skills applicable to Windows, Apple, and virtual operating systems

  • Ability to manage time and resources to meet or exceed expectations in high-profile situations while maintaining professionalism under pressure

  • Enthusiasm, resilience and a positive attitude

  • Maintain a professional appearance

  • Good team player and comfortable sharing responsibilities

  • Exceptional communicator with great communication and interpersonal skills

  • ITIL certification is an advantage

  • Fluent in English and French language
