About the Role
As a senior business consultant in the DDS Business and Delivery Excellence CoE you have the opportunity to help our customers reach the next level of their transformation journey.
Successfully initiate and lead end-to-end cross-team projects from the GDT and DDS project portfolio (on budget, on time and at/above desired quality levels).
Lead a community of practice focused on ‘business consulting’ by developing and sharing methodologies, frameworks and good practices
Build trusted relationships with senior managers (including C-level)
Partner with internal and external domain specialists on technical topics to design and implement solutions, acting as an agent of change, while handling complexity
Focus areas of the BDE CoE include strategy development, business- and operating model design, plus operational excellence (incl. development of business cases for joint initiatives/projects)

Join us, the Design & Delivery Services (DDS) unit! We have the exciting mission to enable business transformation and operational excellence initiatives across Swiss Re – to drive profitable growth and strengthen our market position.
The BDE CoE is an integral part of DDS. We help customers bring their strategies to life, through business- and operating model design, operational improvements as well as project and transformation management & execution. Agile project delivery.
While most of your peers and many of your key partners are based in Zurich (Switzerland), the BDE CoE team is composed of an international workforce spread across different locations and serving a global customer base.
About You
As a successful candidate for this role, you ideally fit the below profile:
Leadership experience
10+ years' delivery and or business consulting experience successfully leading projects/solutions in a (re)insurance, consulting or IT environment
Solid track record and experience in Business Transformation, Operational Excellence, Delivery Management and Digital Transformation
Demonstrated ability to use data and empirical methods to influence improvements
Education/skills
University degree in Business Administration, Engineering, Computer Science or Social Sciences (or comparable education/equivalent experience)
Track-record in both technical (e.g. digital solutions) and non-technical projects (e.g. business transformation, operating model design)
Expertise (preferably with certification) in traditional and agile project and programme management
Recognised leadership and influencing skills, specifically in the management of virtual teams or project groups
Business and financial know-how (e.g. strong analytical skills), ideally in a (re)insurance or financial services context
Personal traits
Natural problem solver and critical thinker who can easily break down big challenges into smaller ones. Passion to perform. Enjoys helping others excel.
Lives and breathes exemplary collaboration (i.e. you're at ease to bring together people from different teams, backgrounds, expertise and seniority levels to jointly create customer value).

Strong communication skills (e.g. ability to translate technical content and key messages to non-technical audiences. Excellent command of English; German is a plus
Change management skills (incl. conflict resolution across all hierarchy levels). Ability and confidence to build co-operative and effective working relationships with customers, partners and peers
