About the Role
We are looking for an AI Software Engineer to join the Axon Vibe Product team. You will be joining a globally distributed team from our headquarters in Switzerland or one of our locations in the UK.
The Axon Vibe platform core capability is collecting real-world sensor data from mobile devices in a battery efficient manner. Throughout our analytics stack, raw sensor data turns into insights and predictions. Besides sensor data, there are numerous other data sources, such as transactional data and user input, that get combined with behavior-based data. Your job is to engineer solutions that create insights and predictions for use in powerful, real-time consumer behavior data products.
User privacy is critically important to our company, as part of the role it is expected that all team members adhere to our policies and generally advocate for user data protection.

In this role you will have a direct impact on shaping the future of mobility. You will:
Build algorithms and apply machine learning solutions to a variety of problems and products as part of a full-stack team.
Analyse varied and complex datasets to extract insights and find patterns.
Work with data science and engineering teams to implement and maintain real-time analytics pipelines that enrich the Axon Vibe platform with powerful consumer behavior data products.
Work with stakeholders to assist with data-related technical issues and support their data infrastructure needs.
Identify, design, and implement internal process improvements: researching best practise, automating manual processes, optimizing data delivery, re-designing infrastructure for greater scalability, etc.
Explore new research and learn about the industry to better solve the challenges at hand.
Keep our data separated and secure across national boundaries through multiple data centers and regions.
About You
The person we’re looking for is enthusiastic, keen to learn, passionate about AI and technology, delivery driven, a great communicator and creative problem solver.
You must be highly collaborative, hard-working and happy to roll up your sleeves, when the going gets tough. Although we are ~100 people globally, we are all in the same team, you must be confident and generous in sharing your own knowledge and ideas.
Experienced in professional software engineering with modern development languages such as Python, Java, Scala.
Experience with machine learning and feature engineering using tools such as Jupyter, Zeppelin, Scikit-learn, TensorFlow, PyTorch, Weka etc.
Strong data handling skills using technologies such as SQL, Pandas and Spark.
Demonstrable experience of delivering algorithms and models to production along with the engineering challenges this entails (DevOps, ETL, Pipelines, CI/CD etc.).
Experience supporting and working with cross-functional teams in a dynamic environment.
Experience with AWS cloud services a plus.
Experience performing root cause analysis on internal and external data and processes to answer specific business questions and identify opportunities for improvement.
Keen on diving into industry and academic literature, keeping abreast of the latest research to guide your decisions.
