The Challenge

 

We have an opportunity for an experienced Innovation Project & Portfolio Director to join our business. This is a leadership role in the Innovation Program Team that will focus on driving innovation efforts across our Human Nutrition & Health portfolio. In this exciting role, you will translate and implement the Human Nutrition & Health strategy into innovation projects delivering value to our customers and consumers, as well as growth and strategic position for DSM. You will be the trusted partner to ensure that our project portfolio reflects the prioritization and weighting of business segments as per the Human Nutrition & Health strategy:

 

Project Management & Execution

• Lead the development and execution of innovation projects including concept development, feasibility validation, R&D, business proposal and approval, project execution, and customer sell-in.

 

Innovation Strategy

• In partnership with Business Segment Teams – translate and implement the business strategy into innovation projects delivering value to our customers and consumers, as well as growth and strategic position for our DSM Human Nutrition Business

 

Culture of Creativity & Innovative Thinking

• Work with R&D, Innovation Program and Marketing Teams to build a compelling vision for the future that enables the organization to achieve its long-term innovation aspirations.

 

Your mission is to:

 

• Translate and implement in collaboration with Business Segment Teams, the HNH business and innovation strategy into projects delivering value to our customers and consumers, as well as growth and strategic position for our DSM Human Nutrition Business


• As Program Director, lead one or more projects of high complexity (business, science & technology) and commercial impact


• Deliver the project pipeline by testing assumptions and improve MVPs through customer and consumer feedback


• Get alignment and buy-in for the HNH Innovation Project Portfolio across multiple HNH functions and stakeholders


• Set up timely, accurate & comprehensive reporting for the Innovation Portfolio Review Board and other Review Teams


• Monitor the required investments in close collaboration with Finance & Control


• Act as Functional Leader for Innovation Program Management in HNH


• Ensure that procedures are in line with DNP Innovation, R&D and SHE policies

 

What experience are we looking for?

 

• Advanced degree in Business (MBA) and related Nutrition/Health Sciences (MSc/PhD)


• Excellent understanding of the Specialty Nutrition & Health industry


• Experience in bringing new products and concepts to market


• Marketing & Sales and/or experience in B2C environment is an advantage


• Very good understanding of cost calculation methods, financial estimates of investments and business case calculations


• Ability to digest and interpret a wide range of functional topics and complex information


• Documented experience in managing projects and teams, in collaboration with other interfaces
